Vincent Fennell

Personality:   Vincent is a considerably intelligent and formal person at a first glance, but he also seems to keep others at a safe distance by using this composed persona to his advantage. Vincent's few in-game interactions with Charles show that he was closer to Charles than he was compared to others; Charles was likely the only person he told about his plan to kill himself and he let Charles come with him when he did so, possibly even planning on a double suicide. He also told Charles about his theory on life after death when they were speaking on the rooftop together. Despite that, he still managed to keep many things about himself from Charles. Vincent seems to best connect with those around him through writing, and it is stated a few times that he is quite popular on the internet for his stories. IN heavens gate, it is mentioned he is a control freak, which appears to be the same in the mainstream, seeing his talk about becoming god and having the same writing style. He is very tired and paranoid, no doubt due to relentless bullying he has received from his peers. This eventually led him to suicide. Vincent is similar to his mainstream counterpart in certain elements, especially his polite facade which hides his true self and his well-known talent for writing. During his first appearance in kindergarten, he was completely emotionless, showing little response to things that often excited his peers and was even seemingly numb to the pain which a scraped knee would normally cause a young child. He also seemed to want to be in control in his life, taking considerable joy when ripping wings off of ants. It is clear that Vincent continued to feel empty and blank throughout Heaven's Gate, but from middle school on he created the aforementioned persona which made him seem far more charismatic and sociable, going so far as to earn him a spot in the student council. He remained suicidal just as his mainstream counterpart was, telling Charles that he tried to kill himself during their discussion after graduation, but he didn't go through with it like he did in Hello Charlotte Episode 3, possibly because he knew Charles for much longer than his mainstream counterpart knew Charles' mainstream counterpart. He admits he is a control freak, as hinted at through not only Charles interactions with him, but his writing style, seeing as out of the two versions of writing he proposed, he wanted to be more of a God of his story as opposed to Charles, who wanted to share his story more with his fans, so they could explore it together. Such a need for control is typical, considering his lack of control during his childhood due to his guardians potential abuse. Vincent was clearly neglected and abused throughout his life. This can be inferred simply from how he acts, but there are multiple events and details which point to this in a very obvious way. First, he had to walk home alone when he was in kindergarten because his parent(s) would not pick him up from school. Also, he often came to school with bandages, but the fact that he had to "wake up to shouting" and found the school trip to be such a relief is the clearest indicator that his home situation was less than pleasant. Outside of being abused as both a child and a teenager, not much else can be clearly states about Vincent's past or early life.
