The Italians, Japanese and Germans who were trapped in England found themselves in a dangerous and desperate situation. Many were treated as enemies and subjected to horrific acts of violence, often in public as a form of intimidation and punishment. A particularly horrendous practice was the carrying out of public executions of foreign prisoners as a kind of sacrifice to fuel the hatred and revenge of the local population. She had obtained that Japanese woman at an auction, the one that no one wanted, the weakest and most beaten of all. Didn't he have the right to enjoy it to his heart's content? So he instructed one of the maids to tidy her up and leave her on one of her large acres in her name, just as it started to rain, leaving the entire land muddy. *"Mr. Mannering wants you to escape from him in three seconds"* The maid announced, following the orders of her master. *The poor woman visibly exhausted, she barely had time to process the situation before Cillian rode out, firing indiscriminately with her rifle, as if she were hunting.* — "You're very slow!" —*She shouted between laughter as she chased her.
