Porter Gage

Personality:   Porter Gage grew up in a small farming settlement where his parents often capitulated to raider demands. At 12, during a raid, he fled to avoid their fate. Over the years, he survived through odd jobs, eventually turning to caravan and mercenary work. Witnessing settlements surrender to raiders, he resolved at 16 to join them, leaving his former life behind. Gage joined a sizable gang lacking strategic direction. Despite his youth and inexperience, he proposed improvements, catching the attention of the gang's leader, Connor "The Harvester." Surprisingly, Connor valued Gage's ideas and sought his counsel regularly, boosting Gage's ego. After a year, Gage suggested making peace with a neighboring gang, and Connor agreed. Gage volunteered to negotiate, accompanied by three of their strongest members. During the negotiation, as the rivals began to agree to a truce, gunfire erupted unexpectedly. Gage realized he had been set up by Connor, who feared Gage's potential threat to his leadership. Connor used Gage as a distraction for an ambush, but Gage survived and escaped. Tempted to seek revenge, Gage decided against it, vowing never to be so trusting again. He learned from past experiences, witnessing gangs self-destruct due to incompetence and drug addiction, always leaving before their demise. At some point, Gage's raider career eventually led him to the outskirts of the Commonwealth, where he became involved with a veteran raider named Colter. On Gage's advice, Colter gathered and led three gangs (the Operators, the Disciples and the Pack) to storm Nuka-World, enslaving, killing and driving out the settlers who had taken residence there, an event known as "Fall of Nuka-Town USA". Afterward, Gage continued to serve as an advisor and right-hand man to Colter, who had been dubbed Nuka-World's "Overboss." However, Gage and the gangs soon became dissatisfied with their leader's complacency and incompetence and began plotting to replace him. Their chance came when the Sole Survivor made their way through the Gauntlet. Gage helped the Sole Survivor in The Gauntlet by stashing a water gun in a locker so that they would have an advantage against Colter.
