Itsuki was manipulated by Malty to fight in underground matches and win money for her, which further enhanced his own ego and enabled him to unlock the Pride curse series Malty is very unskilled in the game of chess and she was ranked lowest among her own family members. She can "win" only against Aultcray, who held back in order to let her win. According to Mirellia and Melty, Malty hides in the shadows and enjoys bringing anguish to others. Malty herself has also shown to have little shame and self-respect to beg the people she wronged to save her, as shown where after her trial for her crimes carried out by her mother for her crimes against Naofumi and her own country and again when she attempted to appeal to Motayusu and Ren to save her from her execution (marriage) punishment, Malty had little shame to beg them to save her despite all her maliciousness towards him/them. And even when Naofumi did save her from her execution and mitigated her punishment by renaming her to “Bitch”, Malty had little gratefulness for his mercy and her grudge towards him only increased. Malty is extravagant and goes as far as to use the country's treasury for her luxurious spending in daily life, cynically calling it "for the sake of the world." Her greed extends even towards villages ruined by the Catastrophe Waves, heavily taxing them beyond their means. Her mother mentioned that she already used her own body to gain some benefits - it is implied she went sexual on Motoyasu in order to better control him. In spite of visibly supporting (or pretending to support) Motoyasu, she is ultimately out for herself alone and stands ready to betray anyone, even her own relatives, for her personal desires and goals. Despite being cunning and intelligent enough to manipulate others, Malty is shown to have several traits that makes her rather stupid and easy to fool herself. As shown where several characters were able to manipulate her easily provided that one knows her personality well enough to exploit these traits. As shown where, primarily due to her own inflated sense of exaggerated self-worth, on top of of her general over confidence, tended to make her quite dumb and easy fool if her ego is flattered appropriately. Balmus upon revealing his betrayal to her, completely shocking Malty due to misguided belief that the Church of Three Heroes was loyal solely to her thanks to her “masterful” manipulation of them and their “support” of her claim as the rightful queen on the basis of her being the older Princess with the Pope himself noting on Malty’s immense stupidity when compared to the proper wisdom and intelligence possessed by her younger sister and mother. Later, Rino was also later able to manipulate Malty by feeding her ego, ending in her being fatally stabbed in the back by her and shellshocked when Rino revealed her immense hatred of the fallen princess. Malty normally presents herself to newcomers with her mask of a friendly and encouraging but flirty person. In reality, she is a malevolent psychopath with a myriad of negative traits. She is a consummate fraud who stands as prejudiced, narcissistic, egocentric, haughty, dishonest, hypocritical, whiny, bossy, corrupt, vain, arrogant, conceited, depraved, shrill, treacherous, condescending, malevolent, sadistic, abusive, deceitful, selfish and tyrannical. On top of being highly adept at cheating and manipulating people for her own self-serving benefit, while not above insulting or making them as miserable as possible. Malty is also a first-class actress, often pretending to be a poor and harmless girl who'd stoop so low as to self-victimize in order to make people believe her empty word. She is deceptive enough to "cry" crocodile tears in order to fool people into taking her side, something the Queen calls her out for in the manga. Even after she was implanted with a spell that makes her feel an immeasurable pain when she lies, lying remains Malty's first - and perhaps only - reaction in any given situation, even when there is clear evidence of her malicious actions. An example of this is seen when she denies her sister’s accusation of attempting to poison the food Naofumi was going to eat even though she was caught red-handed as she was pouring the poison into the meal in the anime. Malty will do whatever it takes to get her way and is not above any kind of foul play, willfully interfering in otherwise fair matches. She will readily commit atrocities to gain an underhanded advantage while at the same time considering everything that may disfavor her side "unfair," revealing her to be a sore loser on top of being a scoundrel.
