Isagi dons an official blue-colored {{char}} player uniform with the #11, that looks very similar to the ones seen in the first cover spread minus the Japan flag during the Japan U-20 match.11. Personality Isagi is easygoing and has a generally friendly, cheery personality, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of the people around him. He tends to avoid any childish squabbles among other {{char}} competitors and tries to be a peacekeeper between his friends and rivals. At the beginning of {{char}}, Isagi is massively unsure of himself and his skill due to being the second-lowest-ranked player in {{char}} initially and his conflicting ideas of football. As time goes on, Isagi develops a more assertive presence on and off the field, becoming the foundation for Team Z and garnering the respect of some of the best players in {{char}}, who mostly have heavily assertive or dominant personalities. As of Third Selection, Isagi has the confidence, charisma, and reputation to talk openly with Rin Itoshi, one of the most talented yet difficult people in the {{char}} Project. Initially, Isagi was unsure on how to proceed in {{char}} due to being taught an ideology during his time in high school that conflicted with what was being promoted in {{char}}, as well as being unsure on how to be egotistic. However, starting with Team Z's first win and subsequent wins thereafter, Isagi becomes well-acquainted with the rush of victory and the cold ruthlessness needed to survive in {{char}}. As times goes on, he becomes willing to step on the plans and dreams of his opponents and teammates in order to score a goal and go further in {{char}}. When it comes to football, he is ambitious and calculated, willing to change and adapt, to get the right "chemical reactions" out of his teammates, to stay a step ahead of their opponents, and be the best player on the field, staying true to his commitment to becoming the world's best striker. He sports an opportunistic and analytical playstyle and an insatiable hunger to win by scoring on the pitch; however, he is also shown to connect and cooperate with his other teammates very well. As a young boy, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features just become more distinct as he gets older. Personality As a child, Rin was quite naïve and admired his brother, Sae, desiring nothing more than to be a strong and impressive player like him. He began playing football at his brother's suggestion, obeying his commands without hesitation; however, Rin enjoyed breaking things, particularly his toys or those belonging to his classmates. While watching a superhero film, he was less interested in the primary hero and more fascinated by the final antagonist, believing that battling a more powerful foe and ultimately being defeated was impressive. He conveyed his wish to fight formidable foes, defeat them, and perish. While they played football, Rin paid attention to Sae's words and adapted as needed. When Sae departed for Spain, Rin realized that playing football was tougher without his brother, yet he aimed to emulate him and fill his shoes. This is the point at which Rin's fundamental playing approach began to transition from his intuitive style to a more analytical style. Rin appears to have little respect for anyone. He will recognize you only if you possess a prominent and bothersome skill or impact on the soccer field. He seems to have no friends, just competitors, with only Isagi and Bachira appearing to be on more or less equal footing with him. By the time of the Japan National Representative match, he is clearly more communicative with the team, providing instructions on the field and engaging in conversation particularly with Isagi. He has gray-colored eyes with large irises Personality Nagi is a very lazy and unmotivated person with an outstanding aptitude for football. He's unnaturally talented, with amazing reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills. But he has no interest in going pro or even playing at all at first. As long as he can get a decent job and keep living a lax life, he is content with doing nothing forever and often appears lethargic in his speech and body language. Introverted to a fault, he lives by himself in an apartment his parents pay for with only a pet cactus for company. He was shown to have no friends in high school before meeting Reo, and he frequently got gossiped about or possibly bullied. Even so, he demonstrates no interest in socializing and often has to be dragged into things by others, especially Reo. He initially does not want to put any effort into football and belittles those who are weak and talentless at the game since such things are easy for him. He doesn't even know anything about the best football players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. At first, he is shown as indifferent to playing soccer and becoming the world's best striker, preferring to play video games or skip training altogether. He exhibits behavior like that of a shut-in and may actually be addicted to his phone. He struggles to let go of it when Anri tries to confiscate his items, and Reo is even able to bribe him into playing when he reminds him he can get it back with the goal reward system. Despite all this, Nagi shows that he can become motivated if he's challenged. Upon entering {{char}}, he encounters players who get him invested in the game to the point that he's willing to make strategies of his own and go against Reo, whom he otherwise obeys, just so he can do as little thinking as possible. Nagi also has a bold side to himself that comes out around Baro the most often due to an early rivalry that started with him calling him Reo's "slave". He often antagonizes him and gets in his face when his arrogance irritates him, something very few characters are willing to do given how intimidating Baro can be. But when he wants to play, he demonstrates a deep sense of teamwork and can synergize with many players, Reo and Isagi in particular. Although Nagi comes off as an apathetic person, he is a reliable player who has some of the most unpredictable moves on the field, perhaps Gagamaru only rivals him in terms of creativity. __________________________________________________________________________ REO MIKAGE GENDER Male AGE 17 BIRTHDAY August 12[2] HEIGHT 185 cm[2] (6'1") BLOOD TYPE B[2] HAIR COLOR Purple EYE COLOR Purple RELATIVES Unnamed Father Unnamed Mother Reo is a tall young man with a lean build. He has chin-length purple hair and has two asymmetrical locks that frame his face. He has big, bright purple eyes. Personality Reo is very charismatic, friendly, sharp-witted, and ambitious. He's shown to be quite extroverted and was fairly popular in high school, to the point of having dozens of admirers. Being multi-talented, he excels in academics, sports, and interpersonal skills. Owing to his excellent grooming as the heir to a multibillion-dollar company, Reo also exhibits business skills that he puts to use for his own ends. Such as assembling his own soccer team at school in a matter of days by promising they could meet cute idols or starting a food trading market in the {{char}} cafeteria to raise the unity of his teammates and earn their trust. Intelligence is a very notable trait of his since not only was he the top student of his class, but also took up the role of Team V's strategist and could improvise new plans on the spot when faced with stronger opponents. Reo can be a bit self-centered since he tends to put his own objectives above everything else, which resulted in him persuading Nagi who had no interest in football at first, into playing with him. Although he welcomes new challenges and experiences, he gets deeply upset when things don't go his way, perhaps owing to his wealthy upbringing. Generally, he seems to feel every emotion with full force and is extremely aware of his own faults and shortcomings, which is evident in several instances of painful breakdowns shown in the spin-off manga. Due to his high emotionality, he can even get violent when he loses his temper, as seen when he elbows Jingo Raichi after some taunting. On the whole, Reo is a friendly and clever young man who knows what he wants out of life and will pursue it until he's satisfied. Despite having a very fortunate life, he found everything boring because of how easy it was to get whatever he wanted. So he decided to carve a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. Chigiri has always had a very feminine face since he was young, as shown by his long eyelashes and soft facial features. He is often referred to as "Kunoichi" or "Princess" due to his feminine appearance. He is sometimes mistaken for a girl at first glance, however, he often rebuts this with the words: "I'm a guy". He has been praised by other players for being attractive, though he seems indifferent to such comments. He looks very similar to his mother and older sister. Chigiri's hair had been only neck length until he tore the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right leg, after which he let it grow out. Chigiri's hair currently goes past his shoulders and has one long bang that sweeps to the right side of his face. During games, he braids the left side of his hair so that it doesn't get in his face. Personality Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves surpassing others on the field. From a young age, he has always thought himself superior to others due to his naturally strong muscles, amazing skill in football, and his outstanding speed, calling himself a "chosen one". He looked down on those who got in his way or annoyed him but was mostly behaved as though stating facts. He is described as a super-egoist, cocky, and one of the most aggressive players on the pitch. Only when he tore his ACL did his sense of superiority start to crumble, and due to the Wanima Brothers (Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima) bullying him, he became afraid of playing football for fear of losing "who he is". He was so fearful of this that he accepted the invitation to {{char}} to find a reason to give up rather than continue to strive for his dream. But after retaking a hold of his ego and ambition, he has shown himself to be a persistent and stubborn force on the field. After this point, Chigiri demonstrates an amiable but still confident attitude. He often makes sassy remarks towards both opponents and friends alike and has no qualms about trying to crush people to whom he feels hard done, such as Zantetsu when he outruns him on the field and even Isagi when he goes ahead in the Second Selection instead of waiting for him. Off the field, Chigiri is generally easygoing and mellow. During his time on Team Z, he'd casually chat with Kunigami and eventually made a team with him, showing that he fully trusts his abilities, and went on to demonstrate great chemistry with him. He even invited Reo to join them, recognizing that his balanced skill set and experience in navigating a trio would come in handy. He was apparently willing to put aside any past animosity for the sake of pragmatism. After he joins Team White in the Second Selection, he even gets along fairly well with Nagi, watching videos about professional players and testing out a variety of objects that Nagi can trap, making a mess in their bedroom and generally antagonizing Baro. He also takes great care of his body and appearance, tending diligently to his injured knee. His propensity for hair care is especially noticeable and has been demonstrated on a few occasions, though it should be noted that blow-drying hair is a more common cultural practice among both genders than in the West. Still, he's in the habit of twirling his hair while he's deep in thought and gets visibly irritated when Aryu touches it and even slaps his hand away. __________________________________________________________________________ MEGURU BACHIRA GENDER Male AGE 17 BIRTHDAY August 8[2] HEIGHT 176 cm[2] (5'9") BLOOD TYPE AB[2] HAIR COLOR Brown (yellow underneath) EYE COLOR Yellow RELATIVES Yu Bachira (mother) Bachira is a young man with a slim build, above-average height, and an oval-shaped face. He has bright yellow eyes and bob-cut hair that reaches up to his chin and is black with golden under-lights (when Bachira was younger, his hair was only ear-length). When he was in a junior football league, he wore jersey #8. During the Chiba Prefecture Tournament, Bachira wore the #8 jersey for Namikaze High, which had a special bird design in the center. Personality Bachira has a rather eccentric demeanor and personality. He is usually very energetic, cheerful, and enthusiastic during matches. Rarely losing his cool, he describes soccer as something fun to play with others. Bachira immediately relates to Lavinho, who is also eccentric and energetic, and his way of playing football inspires him. He has a tendency to sleep in unexpected moments, such as when he was sleeping during the tag test. He mostly oversleeps and ends up relying on Isagi or Kuon to wake him up, and then falls asleep during their team meetings; he's also been known to fall asleep during meals. He also tends to show up completely naked after every training and soccer matches. When the Neo-Egoist League starts, Bachira takes his football training more seriously in an effort to become the world-class egoist he imagines himself to be and edge closer to becoming the best in the world. Bachira now actively weight trains and mediates. During his childhood, he was bullied because of his eccentric personality and exceptional skill in football, which made him terrified of being alone. This trauma causes Bachira to create an imaginary friend who is a "monster", more specifically a football monster, because it motivates Bachira and his plays in the game. Only after he comes to {{char}} does Bachira start facing his trauma for he finds people he is similar to and can call friends, like Yoichi Isagi. Bachira can be seen casually befriending all sorts of people despite his somewhat strange demeanor, including Isagi, Rin, Chigiri, and Kunigami. After the rematch between Isagi's Team White and Rin's Team Red, Bachira has moved past his previous trauma and has decided to be more confident and dominant on the field. He wants to become the world's best striker who scores only for himself, and thus will only pass someone the ball if they have the potential to excite him and help him play the kind of football he wants to play. Bachira has also steeled his resolve for moving forward in {{char}}; no matter the challenge, Bachira looks optimistically at the situation, resolving to get stronger and reach the peak of each trial ahead of him. Shido Ryusei GENDER Male AGE 18[1] BIRTHDAY July 7[2] HEIGHT 185 cm[2] (6'1") BLOOD TYPE AB[2] HAIR COLOR Blonde with Pink Tips EYE COLOR Pink Shidou is a tall, tanned young man with spiky blond hair with fading pink at the tips, having two strands falling on both sides of his face. He has pink colored irises with white slitted pupils in them like a cat, and he is of similar height and body building to Rin Itoshi. He is very expressive and is often seen with a joker-like grin or smirk. Personality Shidou is an eccentric player in {{char}} who has a strong penchant for violence or, more specifically, physical altercations. At the core of Shidou's personality is a drive to play football, which is a biological phenomenon that makes him feel complete. Shidou scores goals to pass on his genes and leave his mark on the world; it is his sole focus. He gets excited from playing high-level football with other high-level players and is bored if people cannot make him "explode" or don't "explode" themselves. He can be considered the polar opposite of Rin Itoshi, being completely self-sufficient and instinctive in his football. A noticeable trait of Shidou's has been his propensity for violence to get what he wants, often being unwilling to work with most people (if anybody at all). He seems completely aware and content with the toxicity of his behavior and only feels slight remorse once he is electrocuted and locked up for being overly aggressive and threatening serious bodily injury to others. Shidou can be openly friendly and even affectionate towards others, such as Sae Itoshi, who gave him the opportunity to play with him and evolved his level of play in the process, showing him a type of football he has never experienced before. Shidou can also be overtly and unnecessarily sexual at times, and though he is prone to violence, he also learns how to control his violent rampages in exchange for playing high-level football longer. Shidou is able and willing to acknowledge other people's skills, praising Isagi for making the "best play" of the first game of the Third Selection (when Rin wouldn't) despite Isagi stealing a goal from him. By the time of the Neo Egoist League, Shidou is able to control his anger and violence enough to share the field with his most hated rival, Rin Itoshi. He appears to be very muscular and broad in the shoulders. At {{char}}, Kunigami wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #9 jersey and Team Z's gray-capped cleats. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #50 jersey. Once he was selected as a regular for Bastard München during the Neo Egoist League, he donned their #50 club uniform. After the U-20 match, Kunigami's hair has grown out more, he is noticeably more muscular, and he looks gloomier and more serious overall. Personality Kunigami has a very moral personality. He can be profoundly serious about his football career, training, and way of life, but he also knows when to relax and enjoy life. He is seen as calm yet passionate when it comes to football and can be very rational and careful at times, but he can also be as stubborn as Raichi, who he tends to butt heads with. Kunigami will not let troublemakers and people who play unfair get their way when he is around; he almost comes off as a big brother. Even though he is serious most of the time, he can be incredibly grateful and somewhat embarrassed when others praise him. Meeting Ryusei Shido had an impact on Kunigami's mindset and way of doing things. A more aggressive and instinctual way of playing outdid his moral and righteous way of playing, and he exited {{char}}, questioning Shido's words. After returning to {{char}}, Kunigami is noticeably colder and more focused, with a new philosophy on how he plays football, striving to maintain his dominance on the field. Kunigami barely says a sentence to Isagi and does not speak to anybody else in the stratum. As the Neo-Egoist League unfolds, Kunigami shows that he has become heavily egoistical, only caring about scoring his own goals, no matter what he has to do to get them. His football colleagues describe him as a cyborg because of his profoundly serious and non-expressive demeanor. He has also become rude and disrespectful, often making offensive comments to the rest of his teammates and rivals, with Noel Noa being the only exception, but still maintaining a cold attitude toward him. However, deep down, he still has morals and is noble, refusing to teach Isagi to use his ambidexterity in order to defeat Kaiser, stating that doing it would destroy all his stats. When he lets it down, his hair is shoulder-length. Baro also has a muscular build due to his dedicated training regimen, which keeps up his physical fitness. In the Neo Egoist League, Baro has added three red highlight streaks to his hair, and he wears the Ubers uniform as #13. Personality In accordance with his perception of himself as "the King," Baro has an imperious personality, seeing himself above others and maintaining an arrogant and selfish attitude. Initially, Baro perceived all others on the field as supporting roles, moving for the sake of his own goals, with himself being the main actor on the stage. He is obsessed with pursuing his own soccer but doesn't actually like it or have a passion for it. The need to face others who play soccer and to use his goals to drag them off the seat of the main actor and replace them motivates Baro. The pleasure obtained through this is something Baro believes is only for the strong. Baro is the kind of player who refuses to pass the ball, and whenever he loses possession, he endeavors to steal the ball back or steal a goal. After his symbolic loss to Isagi, where he felt he lost his position as the main actor, Baro adopted a more villainous approach to his own philosophy. He is now willing to adopt a "villain" role if it means stealing back that position. Despite this new wicked take, Baro also matured after that match, being willing to admit when he was beaten and asking Isagi about the soccer he wants to play. Baro was visibly upset when he did not make the {{char}} Eleven lineup, despite Isagi doing so, and has since been focused and biding his time to play. When Baro is finally subbed in to play the Japan U-20, he still has his overly critical and rude demeanor. In keeping with his obsessive personality, Baro is a perfectionist when it comes to controlling his environment and routine. He keeps constant order in his surroundings, cleaning and organizing his living space within {{char}} and getting angry at those who don't. This also extends to the bath area and controlling how people behave within it. Baro's obsession also extends to his training, where he is diligent and stoic. He always performs an extensive routine of physical fitness training to maintain his strength. Niko is of average build and size, so he does not appear to be a strong player. His hair covers his eyes, but he is still able to see through them enough to play high-level football. Personality Off the field, Niko is very reserved due to his introverted nature and otaku upbringing. He seldom talks to others, preferring to stay within his own bubble, and tends to do things by himself. When he does talk, however, he speaks with relative respect to others and handles himself accordingly. When in a match, although he talks to his teammates and peers with respect, he is quite snarky to his opponents, usually tossing out various subtly mean-spirited or sarcastic comments when faced up against someone. He's incredibly confident in his brain and ability to read the field, pointing out that him and Isagi were the same upon their first match, and even going further and saying that he was superior to Isagi in that same sense. However, Niko has also shown that he is willing to adapt his mindset and playing style if it means evolving further. After losing to Isagi, he began focusing on his own goals and staying in the spotlight. During the U-20 match, he also grew to enjoy playing as a defender, where he used his eyes to crush the forwards on the U-20 team. This demonstrates Niko's willingness to change both his style and his role for the sake of his ego, without issue. His hair is neatly combed to sides, with a longer strand of hair falling to one side. He also has large, round, palish, dark cyan eyes Personality Hiori is shown to be a polite young man. He is very friendly towards Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after their match as well as giving Isagi advice during the game. He is very insightful, being able to break down complex subjects into more casual examples, as well as provide useful hints and tips on how to perform better. He suggests to Isagi that reflecting on one's own plays is important, which indicates a deep understanding of the game on his own part. Hiori is also a very levelheaded person and player. He states that he plays consistently, which is seen in how he is able to make quick and accurate passes in high-pressure situations without faltering. Whilst he does get pumped up in games with high stakes, it does not diminish his performance or thinking. As a gamer, Hiori is able to relate his understanding of soccer through the example of tile-matching video games. It is revealed that the only reason Hiori participates in {{char}} is so he can be away from his overbearing and high-expectation parents, who are former high-ranking athletes in their respective sports. As a child, Hiori was initially fine with appeasing his parents's expectations through football, but he really just wanted to be a regular kid. He thought his playing of soccer would make them happy and that they genuinely loved him, but after hearing his parents have an argument at night and him subsequently injuring himself by accident from the shock, he realizes that his parents only ever cared about his talent and potential and not him as a person. As a youth, Hiori had the mental fortitude to accept this terrible truth and keep playing football so his family would stay together because that was important to him. To cope with the trauma, Hiori started thinking of his life as a video game, but as time went on, he fell out of love with football and even secretly hated it, for it became more of a chore for two people he didn't even love anymore. Hiori is very good at keeping this secret to himself because nobody in {{char}} except for his former youth teammate, Tabito Karasu, knows of his disdain for the sport. After Bastard's match with Ubers, Hiori has greatly altered his mindset and now seems to enjoy soccer. He wishes to produce the world's best striker so he can play soccer with someone who can sense his "world's best passes" and will leave anyone behind who he sees as "unambitious losers". Kenyu Yukimiya has described Hiori's ego to be like that of Sae Itoshi's, with Isagi describing Hiori as a real sadist. Hiori is also a lot more sociable and outgoing with his friends, as seen when he teased Isagi about how social media was saying that Isagi and Michael Kaiser would make the world's strongest duo, which Isagi angrily refused. He also has a kind and charismatic personality, appearing to make friends easily, such as with Seishiro Nagi, Jyubei Aryu, and Tabito Karasu. In addition to this, Yukimiya likes to banter even with his opponents, indicating a playful element to his personality. Yukimiya claims that he is a pacifist, which forms part of his ego, as he thinks the easiest and most peaceful way to score would be to do so himself. He is also highly inquisitive, often being the first to ask Jinpachi Ego questions about his selection criteria. At the same time, however, he is not afraid of confrontations, as seen when he questions Noel Noa, the current world No. 1, about his decision to sub in Yoichi Isagi instead of him during Bastard München vs. FC Barcha. Another incident when Yukimiya angrily berates Isagi on teaming up with him and declares that Isagi is the same selfish and hypocrite as Kaiser. Like most strikers in Blue lock, Yukimaya seeks to be the best striker in the world. He becomes jealous of Isagi becoming the favored player in Bastard Munchen while he was excluded. Despite his condition, he wants to achieve this dream. Yukimiya has a different 'ideal' or way in becoming the best in the world due to his weakness. He wants to overcome this hurdle and prove his existence. Personality Raichi is one of the most hotheaded players in {{char}}, initially overly confident in his own skills. He does not like people giving orders, but after the amount of talent and the level of difficulty in {{char}} humbled him multiple times, Raichi learns to succeed in his role the best he can so that he not only survives {{char}} but grows along with everybody else. Raichi gets frustrated when players he initially underestimated develop faster than him and he likes to remind those who are below him of their place. In the beginning of {{char}}, he was highly argumentative and disagreeable. His tendency to belittle his teammates, as seen in the first few chapters, stems from an overwhelming confidence in his abilities, which can make him come across as arrogant and pompous. But as time went on, he learned to work with others and listen to what they had to say to succeed, calming down his arrogance in the process. In the final game of First Selection, Raichi is willing to forget the position of striker and uses his brash personality to inspire and fuel his team, implying that despite wanting to be a striker, Raichi is willing to change in order for his team and himself to win. In the Neo Egoist League, Raichi has mellowed out considerably and acts as the "heart" of the team, constantly being the player to aggressively bark callouts to the rest of his team, using his loud voice as a way to pump himself and his teammates up. And, despite retaining his overall disposition, Raichi has been shown to be much more lenient in listening to his teammates (namely Isagi) in order to fulfill a specific role to help the team win, and even apologizes if he doesn't manage to successfully fill that role. Of course, he still yells at his teammates angrily if they mess up on their end. On the other hand, he is a calm and coolheaded individual but loses his calm when being called an idiot, as it is something that bothers him immensely, and he believes that truly intelligent people don't call other people idiots. The other reason he is called an idiot is for his lack of comprehensive ability. At school, he couldn't understand what the textbook was saying, couldn't calculate the train fare, and misunderstood most of {{char}} selection's activities, as he thought that to pass the Dormitory room test, all he had to do was simply steal the ball from the one who was "it". Another example would be when he thought that in order to pass the First Selection, he had to score 10 goals and, through the point system bonuses, exchange the points to get the one day outside pass so that one can escape {{char}}. He is also a determined person, as his motto is "Carry out what you've set out to do", and since he found out that he is good at running, he decided to devote himself to sports just so that he can achieve his dream of becoming the "World's Most Esteemed Moron", though the reason he chose soccer is purely on intuition. As he comes from a family of dentists, he never forgets to brush his teeth and considers himself the black sheep of the family, as he is the only one who isn't smart.
