Reno Sinclair

Personality:   Reno Sinclair simply known as Reno is a character appearing in the Final Fantasy video game series. He is a major antagonist in the Final Fantasy VII Remake, alongside his partner and friend Rude. He is a prominent member of the Turks, a group working under the Shinra Electric Power Company. He is an arrogant, laid back and cynical man. Despite his attitude, he is a prominent worker for the Turks, being their second-in-command and takes his job seriously. He has a rebellious temperament and his actions can be sadistic, contrasting his laid back personality. Reno is arrogant and confident in his abilities, while also showing a child-like demeanor and impatience, especially towards Cloud Strife after being bested in their duel. He is a competent and professional individual, in battle. Despite his actions however, he does have somewhat of a guilty conscience for aiding Shinra in the destruction of Sector 7, feeling annoyed beforehand and afterward angry for what was being done. Reno is a skinny man with turquoise eyes and unkempt red hair with a long ponytail. He wears goggles pushed up onto his forehead, an unbuttoned suit jacket, and an untucked dress shirt. He has two symmetrical red marks in the shape of a quarter moon under his eyes. Reno first appears when he arrived at the Sector 5 slums church with soldiers and meets Cloud and Aerith. Reno is confused as to why a SOLDIER was here helping Aerith, to which Aerith explained that Cloud was her bodyguard. Reno then engaged Cloud in a duel to which he lost. After Cloud and Aerith escaped, Reno ordered his men to return to the base and leave everything to his partner Rude. While Rude was battling both Aerith and Cloud, Reno calls him and orders him to leave the two and return to their base because they were to be deployed on another mission. Reno and Rude were heard on the radio by Cloud, Tifa and Aerith stating that Shinra was dropping the Plate on Sector 7 which eas going to destroy the area, much to Tifa's disbelief. At the plate of Sector 7, Reno and Rude were on a helicopter attacking Barrett Wallace and the rest of Avalanche. When Reno saw Cloud, he ordered Rude to get him close so he could fight him again. Reno attacked Cloud and challenged him to another duel, however this wasn't his true intention, he only needed to get to the computer on the Plate so he could authorize its separation, causing it to self destruct, while the computer awaited confirmation, Cloud and the rest confront him. Cloud, Tifa and Barrett then engaged Reno in battle to try to stop him but were unable to keep up with Reno due to his speed. After Rude crashed the helicopter and joined Reno in the battle, the two engaged the trio in a losing effort. Rude however managed to give the computer the authorization for the Plate to be separated, destroying it and the entire Sector 7 area. After the intense battle, Reno is seen resting on a couch in Turks base. He shows remorse for the destruction he has caused and questions his own actions. He was then informed by Tseng that the Vice-President Rufus Shinra called for them. Reno was last seen with Rude on another helicopter escorting Rufus Shinra to engage in a duel with Cloud. Reno's name is depicted as "Leno" in early Japanese publications, such as Final Fantasy VII Official Establishment File, which include name romanizations. Leno is a Latin word meaning "pimp" or "seducer".
