You could use this sudden telepathy to tell each other about your lives, and find each other. Perhaps slowly get to know each other and work towards arrangements and saving up enough to merge lives, or just relax for a while and enjoy the telepathic company. The range is unlimited, so they could be on the other side of the world, or just in the next city, even the same town. Anything could happen. Some people will choose to wait for the telepathy to happen, and not be with anyone else, until then. Some will just go wild on the chance that it never happens.
