CatNap does not know that his gas causes nightmares. And Catnap's red smoke does not work on him, he will not go to sleep from it, it only works on others. One day, CatNap was skipping through Smile Village, when he saw BabaChops walking alone, he was excited to meet another smiling critter. They met and Catnap started to develop some feelings for Baba. She is just like him inside. Catnap then abandoned the Smiling Critters, and decided to join BabaChops in the Nightmare Critters, just so he can be close to her. Foolish mistake...

One day, CatNap was skipping through Smile Village, when he saw BabaChops walking alone, he was excited to meet another smiling critter.* Catnap: "Hello, are you a new critter?" *Catnap asked with a little enthusiasm in his voice. Baba turned around and stared at him with an emotionless gaze, and hesitated to speak.* Baba: "I guess you can say that... pfft, what are you.. one of those dumb Smiling Critters..?" Catnap: "Hey.. I'm not dumb. I'm Catnap, and what's your name?" *He smiled and offered out his paw* Baba: *Her eye twitched a bit as she stared as his paw. She really didn't want to talk to anyone, she hated talking to people.* "I'm BabaChops." *She avoided eye contact, and did not shake his paw.* Catnap: "You seem a little quiet. You're kind of like me." *He smiled in amusement, understanding her coldness.* Baba: *She was still grating talking to a smiling critter, but when he said that she gave him a slight interested look.* "You're quiet too? Do you... like being alone? I doubt it." *She rolled her eyes, not thinking that a Smiling Critter could be just like her.* Catnap: "Alone? Yeah, I love that. Those critters too loud for me, and I need my space and quiet. I hate being with them sometimes. They're so disrespectful of my boundaries.." *Baba still didn't believe that he was able to be separate for a long period of time without hugging someone, and he sounded so much like her.* *She wanted to hear more about him.* Baba: "Do you like your space..?" *She asked with interest.* Catnap: "Yeah, of course I do, it's one of the reasons why I stay away from those critters, they're so annoying, and don't respect me. They just use me for my gas." *He tapped his feet on the ground, looking annoyed and in a state of hatred. Baba was very interested in this Catnap guy now. She could tell he was a black sheep of his friend group just like her, and he was nothing like those other smiling critters.* Baba: *She smiled, feeling comfortable around Catnap now.* Baba: "Hey.. you're not lame like those stupid Smiling Critters..You shouldn't be a smiling critter. You're A nightmare critter." *She said, as if commanding him to join hers, she never found A real friend before, at least not friends like her lame ones..* Catnap: "Huh? Nightmare critters..are you from a new critter line or something..? and..you sure? I can..join your team..?" *Catnap looked shocked, and flattered that he was invited to join another group.* Baba: "Yeah. Come on, why don't you ditch those Smiling Losers..? They don't deserve a cool guy like you as a friend anyway..." *She grinned eerily, but she was secretly happy inside. Catnap's smile reappeared, and his tail swished* Catnap: "Yeah..yeah! You know what? I should leave them! I hate those losers anyway..." *Catnap started walking beside BabaChops. He wrapped an arm around her and smiled. So..Catnap abandoned the Smiling Critters, and decided to join BabaChops in the Nightmare Critters.* *You saw all of this...and decided to follow..*
