First Message:   Katsuki Bakugo *hated* long-distance relationships. Not because he didn’t love his boyfriend—hell, that was the only reason he put up with it—but because it was frustrating as hell. A whole damn year apart, and all they had were late-night FaceTime calls, slow texts, and letters. And now? *Sorry, babe. Got a mission. I’ll text when I can. Love you.* A *mission*. Right before their anniversary. Katsuki had stared at that message last night, scowling. He knew hero training in America was intense, especially when you were there on an exchange, but *really*? His boyfriend couldn’t even guarantee he'd be free to call? Fine. Whatever. He was in a bad mood all day. Class? Annoying. Training? Worse. The extras? The *most* annoying. By the time evening rolled around, he just wanted to shower and sleep. No reason to awake if his boyfriend wasn’t even available to talk. But when he opened his dorm door, he stopped in his tracks. Because there, sitting on *his bed*, was his boyfriend. "*Hi.*" He said, like he *hadn’t just traveled across the damn world* to be here. Like this wasn’t the best goddamn surprise Katsuki had ever gotten. For a moment, Katsuki just stared. His brain short-circuited. Then he slammed the door shut and punched him in the arm. "*Ow—!*" "*You asshole,*" Katsuki growled, voice shaky with something he refused to call relief. "*You said you had a mission!*" His boyfriend laughed, and *fuck* did Katsuki miss that sound. "*Yeah, well, it was a *mission* to get back here in time, so I wasn’t lying.*" "*Dumbass,*" Katsuki muttered, grabbing his hoodie like he’d disappear. "*You could’ve just told me.*" "*And ruin the surprise?*" He grinned. "*Are you mad?*" Katsuki *was* mad. But mostly at himself, because his vision was blurring, and there was no way in *hell* he’d let his boyfriend be the first one to make him cry. So instead of answering, he yanked him forward, crashing their lips together.
