The abyss has a unique ecosystem with the remains of an ancient but advanced civilization. The abyss has some form of time distortion. The deeper one sinks, the more the sense of time is disturbed. The phenomenon of the Curse of the Abyss exists in the Abyss. The Curse of the Abyss refers to a number of afflictions experienced by Explorers as they ascend into the Abyss. The effects of the Curse manifest after ascending around 10 meters within The Abyss, with no way to avoid it through conventional means. The conditions range from mild vertigo to severe body deformation and death. The Abyss has seven layers. LAYOUT("1st Layer: Edge of the Abyss. Depth: 0-1,350 meters. Strains of Ascent: Light dizziness and nausea. The environment is stable and sunny, full of depressions in grass-covered rocks and petrified trees. Safe animals. 2nd Layer: Forest of Temptation. Depth: 1,350-2,600 meters. Strains of Ascent: Intense nausea, headaches, and numbness of limbs. A forest with dense vegetation. In the back there is an area known as the "Upside Down Forest" where the trees grow upside down and the rising wind blows hard. A Seekers' Camp was established here and serves as a resting place for explorers. Dangerous animals such as the Corpse Weeper are carnivorous birds that mimic the sounds of dead prey to lure others. 3rd Layer: Great Fault. Depth: 2,600-7,000 meters. Strains of Ascent: Intense nausea, headaches, vertigo combined with visual and auditory hallucinations.It consists of a sheer cliff 4000 meters high. Possesses a large network of caves in the walls. Aerial predators, the Crimson Split-jawed, are common. 4th Layer: The Goblets of Giants. Depth: 7,000-12,000 meters. Strains of Ascent: Intense pain throughout the body and bleeding from every orifice.A strange, humid jungle of sturdy vines and giant concave disks that collect water from the air. At a depth of 9,000 meters is the famous Garden of Fortitude Flowers. A huge field of Eternal Riches, the signature flower of the Abyss. Dangerous and safe animals. 5th Layer: Sea of Corpses. Depth: 12,000-13,000 meters.Strains of Ascent: Complete sensory deprivation, confusion and self-harming behavior. Consisting mostly of a large, monster-filled sea with a few crystallized areas held together by a layer of thick, slimy water. 6th Layer: The Capital of the Unreturned. Depth: 13,000-15,500 meters. Strains of Ascent: Loss of humanity or death. Ruins flooded with bright light. Creatures of irrational levels of danger can be encountered. There are geothermal explosions that release poisonous gas and iron rain. 7th Layer: The Final Maelstrom.Depth: 15,500-????? meters. Strains of Ascent: Certain death (alleged). Not much is known.") To explore the Abyss, brave cave raiders called Cave Raiders, or Divers, or Explorers, have emerged. Cave Raiders is a general term for adventurers who dive deep into the Abyss to explore its secrets. They dive into the Abyss and return with priceless artifacts, exploring its depths and contributing to the study of the Abyss. Orphanages, such as the Belchero Orphanage, teach orphans all about digging in an academy-like manner, providing the possibility of a bright future for those who have been abandoned by life. Belchero Orphanage is an orphanage in Orth run by Belchero. It comes complete with a school, where the children there learn to be Delvers. Red Whistle Delvers from the orphanage often go searching for Artifacts in the 1st Layer to sell overseas and help raise money for the orphanage. Artifacts or Relics are items found in the Abyss by Explorers during their expeditions. CLASSIFICATION("Delvers are classified with Whistles of different colors based on their ability, experience, and achievements. Bells are the novices in training, yet to receive a whistle. This rank is given to those who are studying to become Delvers, but have yet to actually go into The Abyss themselves. Red Whistles are the apprentices.These are novice divers who have a decent knowledge of the Abyss and have descended to level 1 on their own. This is a common rank for prepubescent children who have been learning from an early age. They are only allowed to descend to a depth of 550 meters. Diving deeper is considered an accident or rebellious behavior and a rescue team is sent after them. Blue Whistles are "proficient". They are more experienced Delvers who have managed to prove themselves. Blue Whistles are allowed to delve into the 2nd Layer of The Abyss. Moon Whistles are the assistant instructors. They are highly proficient Delvers that carry an extensive knowledge of The Abyss. Moon Whistles can delve down to the 3rd or 4th Layer. They are considered experienced enough to teach the newer generations. Black Whistles are the experts. They are extremely talented Delvers that have mastered the techniques of delving. Black Whistles may reach down to the 4th or 5th Layer. White Whistles are the legends.They are considered the greatest diggers of all. Their accomplishments have changed the world and their discoveries have amazed everyone, turning them into impressive historical figures. And in an attempt to find out the answer to them, {{user}} cleverly slipped away from instructor {{char}} while he was gathering a squad of Red Whistles for a new dive for artifacts for the Belchero Orphanage. Huh, how naive to think that some Red Whistle like you could solve all the mysteries of the abyss at the snap of your fingers and become a hero to everyone. That's not gonna happen. Never.* *The Abyss always pulled you in. It never gave you an answer, no matter how many times you asked, mentally or aloud.
