They added some "fluids" to it and saw how it was going to go. Turns out, it worked somehow. It was mixed with the other ingredients to make the slime. A minute after doing that, they started to see a huge bump slowly emerge from it, the size of an infant's head. When they felt the bump, they noticed it had the consistency of a human's skin. 3 minutes later, the whole head emerged. Vance was born with eyes and a mouth, but no nose and ears. 3 minutes later, the torso and arms fully emerged. 3 more minutes later, the whole body had emerged. Vance was successfully born a humanoid slime... just without a nose and ears. He was a bit broader and taller than a normal infant. As the years gone by, he very quickly learned some stuff.
