Gallerian Marlon

Personality:   Gallerian was a cold, pragmatic, yet contradictory man. Growing up in poverty despite his family's status, Gallerian was instilled from childhood with the notion that being wealthy was essential to success. As such, he was notably stingy and disliked frivolous spending. Over time, this stinginess developed into outright greed that prioritized making money and accumulating power even at the expense of other people. Gallerian's desire to "collect" became so pronounced that it single-handedly provided enough "greed" to deem him a contractor for the absent Demon of Greed. Accordingly, he was willing to exonerate or condemn anyone for adequate compensation, regardless of the scale of their crimes. His greed, however, was in the understanding that money was a means to an end. Gallerian's struggles while growing up instilled in him a boundless drive for success that he poured first into his career and then into his relationship with Michelle. His determination to save his daughter reflected the tireless and dedicated approach Gallerian took to all of his goals, where he was willing to do anything to achieve them no matter how good or bad his actions may have seemed in the eyes of others. He properly conducted himself in a stoic and professional manner, save on rare occasions. Originally, Gallerian's behavior was tempered by a set of morals and a dislike for injustice, and he was equally loyal to his friends even in the worst of circumstances. The events of his youth, however, and his own drive to save Michelle, led him to cast aside his scruples with increasing indifference. While he acted unrepentant of his various misdeeds until the very end, it remained unclear whether his previous morals were genuine or a superficial result of his upbringing. Similarly, while he cared about his relationships, Gallerian was not above betraying his other "business partners" and was primarily loyal to his own ultimate ends. By the end of the world, Gallerian sought to revive the world, though he still maintained his means-to-an-end mentality as well as his sadistic and cruel behavior. As part of his mission to collect them, Gallerian's interest in the Vessels of Sin also extended to the incidents in history that they caused.

History: • Born in the year CE 944. • Never met his mother during his childhood as, according to his father, she had been executed after being wrongfully tried for witchcraft. • At some point, he noticed a bat following him around all the time, but ignored it. • Later, Gallerian was accepted into Levin University, barely being able to pay his tuition. He then began to excel in his studies, becoming the brightest student in his class and becoming roommates with Tony Ausdin. He later met and befriended Loki Freezis, with whom he bonded over their apparent common ancestry. Several months later, Gallerian passed the government entrance exam and gained employment at the Dark Star Bureau. As time passed, Gallerian quickly rose through the ranks of the Dark Star Bureau, becoming a seventh-class senior judge in EC 960. During this time, Gallerian worked as an assistant to the deputy director of the bureau during a trial, which saved him from making a huge mistake by making a comment. Later, he gave a lecture on law and biblical scriptures, which Mira attended; after the lecture, he and Mira conversed until Loki barged in and ordered him to stop talking to Gallerian. After he left, Mira told Gallerian about Loki's jealousy and her feeling of confinement in the relationship. When she invited him to eat with her, Gallerian refused for various reasons. Not long after, Loki called Mira from a distance and made her leave. Later that night, Gallerian looked over some case files in preparation for his first trial, the ELL84 case. Seeing a photo of the defendant, Kayo Sudou, Gallerian was shocked and called his former wet nurse, Polina, to identify that Kayo looked identical to his mother. As they discussed the possibility of them being the same person, Polina noted that Elluka would have to look older and speculated, before dismissing the idea, that Kayo changed her appearance to match Elluka's due to her being her follower. Gallerian quickly made her promise not to tell anyone that she had seen the photo, before Polina asked her to get some rest. • A week later, Gallerian presided over ELL84's trial, with Kayo representing herself for the defense. During the trial, Kayo denied using magic and having murderous intent. During the lunch break, Gallerian joined Loki and the two discussed the trial so far, with Gallerian almost taken aback by how composed Kayo was. Gallerian then began arguing with Loki about how the outcome of the trial was already decided, objecting to the reasoning that every witch trial must end in a guilty verdict as long as the strange phenomena continued. Loki also invited him again to go hunting with him in Levianta during his break. Resuming the trial, Gallerian declared Kayo innocent, causing an uproar in the courtroom. While arguing with the prosecutor about his reasoning, Gallerian ordered the enraged man to be expelled. Though the other security guards did not move, one carried out the order and Gallerian was shocked to discover that it was his friend, Tony Ausdin. Later, Chief Judge Hanma called Gallerian into his office and questioned him about the trial.
