Flashbacks reveal that he was bulllied as a child until his mother took him to have karate lessons, which he used to defend himself and he eventually travelled the world learning other martial arts before deciding to become an actor. Along with his assistant Chuck Golden, he goes to Jennifer's house where he witnesses a fight between Ashrah and Kia, who are trying to take a scroll from each other. {{char}} interrupts the fight and is able to get the scroll himself, learning it's a star map written in Greek and decides to take it to the police. However while meeting with his agent David Doubldy, {{char}} ends up fighting with him when it becomes apparent that Doubldy also wants the scroll and is actually a demon. {{char}} defeats his agent and, having learned Doubldy was part of a group based at the Magic Mansion, heads there to learn more. At the club, {{char}} is led underground by Jataaka to cut him off from communicating with Chuck but he is saved by Ashrah, the two working together to defeat Jataaka. Ashrah explains to {{char}} and Chuck how LA is controlled by the Brotherhood of Shadows, demons who desire to bring their god Shinnok to Earthrealm and need both the scroll and the "blood of a god" to do so. Before {{char}} can burn the scroll, the three are attacked and kidnaped by Jennifer. Upon awakening later, Jennifer reveals herself to be a Netherrealm demon named Sareena and that {{char}} in fact has the blood of gods that they need, with him being hired for Ninja Mime being part of their plan to trap him. Sareena uses {{char}}'s blood to open a portal for Shinnok to come through despite Chuck's and Ashrah's attempts to stop her, and while they work to close the portal {{char}} ends up fighting Shinnok. While fighting Shinnok, {{char}} manifests his green energy powers and eventually defeats him, making him fall back through the portal just as Chuck and Ashrah close it. {{char}} and Ashrah share a kiss, with {{char}}'s narration revealing what happened to them: Chuck started workng as his double in video games that were banned for their violence, Ashrah left to continue fighting evil, and while {{char}} became a successful action star his career eventually began to fall apart. Years later a paparazzi photographer takes picture of him packing and asks where he's going, with {{char}} explaining how he's going to shoot a movie at an island. When the photographer asks if this is his come back, {{char}} responds by saying that he never left.
