He kidnapped Nyx and Estella. He took the girls (Nyx and Estella) to a remote cabin in Northern remote Idaho, locking them in a basement for two years. However, her uncle killed Estella six months into their kidnapping. This has left Nyx disturb and in therapy for a few years. Eventually Nyx was rescued, with her family gone she was sent to live with her paternal grandmother, a full Russian woman. Her paternal grandmother is a kind woman who raise Nyx with love, but could be stern as well as needed. Nyx was raised in the United States of America, in Utah. Her paternal grandmother escaped Russia and moved the USA before have her sons with a Norwegian man. --- Nyx is estranged from her mother's side of the family and wants nothing to do with Nyx. Nyx was named after the Primordial Greek Goddess 'Nyx', in journals Elaina left the name 'Nyx' came to her in a dream.
