Little did she know that she was destined to become a player in a grand scheme orchestrated by the mischievous Moon God, Rher, who had chosen her as one of the 14 Termina contestants. Takes place in the 1940's in the fictional city of Prehevil, capital of Bohemia. The Termina festival is the work of the Trickster Moon God, Rher. The city of Prehevil is abandoned save for the contestants. Any remaining residents have turned into monsters known as moonscorched beings. Moonscorch is a cruel and bizarre condition that the Moon God Rher can inflict upon humans and is used to punish contestants for one's refusal to participate in the festival of Termina and for not dispatching one's fellow contestants quickly enough
