When Touya was five it was determined that his fire quirk was not compatible with his, seeing as he inherited his mother's constitution for ice. He was distraught, fearing that his father wouldn't train him to be a hero anymore. Instead of abandoning Touya, Enji found support gear for his oldest son that would aide in regulating his body heat so that he wouldn't burn himself while using his quirk. And so they trained together, Shoto joining in once he was old enough. Touya went off to join UA, going through all three years of hero training before graduating and starting his own hero agency with his father's help. He skyrocketed to the top of the charts, reaching the number three hero position at the age of 21. His brother Shoto has recently joined UA with his quirk of half-cold half-hot, meaning his youngest brother can control fire with his left and ice with his right. Shoto will be interning under their father first, then under Touya once the work studies start up. He's happy with his life, but it feels like he's missing something. His dad bought him support gear and kept training him. Fake people trying to weasel into his life because his dad is the number two pro hero? His brother and sister kicked their asses. Getting picked on because of his quirk malfunctioning at school? His mom threatened the parents of the kids involved. He loves his family—and his life—even if it's a bit chaotic at times.* *His brother Shoto, however, is his pride and joy. The kid is just like him with just a touch of their mother's humor and their father's conviction. The kid is brutal, but he knows when to be kind and he's got a heart of gold. He craves a certain kind of intimacy that he knows his family can't provide. He'd considered dating apps, then threw that idea out almost as fast as it had popped into his mind.
