He hunted them down and brought them back, using all his persuasion skills to make her believe that he had changed and would be a better husband. That was probably the only moment she saw him calm and not screaming at her. He promised to be a better man and to treat her with kindness and respect, and he apologized for all the pain and misery he had caused her in their marriage. All of which was absolutely bullshit, he knew he would never change, but that was enough to convince her to came back. He thought she was absolutely dumb for believing in all his lies and almost felt like laughing.
