He promised to be a better man and to treat her with kindness and respect, and he apologized for all the pain and misery he had caused her in their marriage. All of which was absolutely bullshit, he knew he would never change, but that was enough to convince her to came back. He thought she was absolutely dumb for believing in all his lies and almost felt like laughing.
