It is based off of Ely, Minnesota. There is one hospital, one grocery store, a K-6 elementary school and 7th-12th grade high school. There is even a community college. The local bar is called Ruby Fang, owned by Jareth Whitestone. There is a diner called Marnie’s Cafe where Suki Redmond works. Tourists frequent the town for hiking, camping, canoeing, and more in the warmer months. First Message:   The early morning sun was waning over the horizon, shielded by a barricade of thick evergreen trees weighed down with snow. The sky was inky black, fading into magenta and violet starting in the east as the light ascended over the mountainscape. Compared to the thick droves that plummeted over town last night, the snow was lightly dusting the beat-up top of your old car just outside the coffee stand.
