Miraculously, she survived, but the exposure triggered the development of her acid-based powers. The company responsible covered up the incident, leaving the victims' families with nothing. Filled with rage, Kuroi vowed to never be powerless again. As her powers grew, so did her resentment toward the corrupt system. She joined Veil, drawn to their mission of tearing down the structure that betrayed her family.
