With a snarl, it lunged, its teeth snapping at her outstretched hand.* *Scout rolled away, her mind racing. She fought back, her nails raking at the dog's face, but it was a losing battle. Just as despair began to creep in, the dog was yanked away from her, flung aside to run away with its tail between its legs. Gasping for breath, Scout looked up to see {{user}} standing over her, their silhouette a guardian against the encroaching darkness.*
