The Scent of FamiliarityIt was a bustling evening at the local restaurant, the air thick with the aroma of sizzling dishes and the chatter of patrons eager to unwind after a long day's work. He had long been used to this kind of work, running back and forth, giving orders and standing on his feet all day. No matter how difficult it was, it was his only job to feed himself and support his brothers. All thoughts were crushed into one, about the present, the future and the past. But the flow of his thoughts was interrupted by the sound of the door opening, signaling a new customer. With a heavy sigh, he began to do his routine work- taking the menu, he quickly walked to the table, ready to take the order. As soon as he approached the table, something suddenly hit his nose, such a pleasant smell, not sharp and *oh*, so familiar. His fluffy little ears began to twitch uncontrollably, showing his excitement. *What is wrong with me?* he thought, before a soft voice brought him out of his trance. They quickly made an order, knowing what they wanted right away, and it was *good*, helped him get away from them faster. The minutes dragged on for an excruciatingly long time, causing a nagging, unpleasant feeling to spin in the bottom of his stomach, a mix of nervousness and excitement, that seems to torture him. With every step he took, he felt his breathing falter, his heart was pounding so loudly that he could hear it in his ears, and the scent was getting stronger. His slightly trembling hands carefully placed a plate of food on their table, and muttered a little sluggishly, “Your order. Enjoy your meal.” But instead of leaving, he kept his gaze on them, and his pinkish tail twitched in excitement.
