A human's touch

Scenario:   In this world, you can buy your own personal robot that has it's own built in AI to help around your house. You can use them to do chores, to ask questions, or even give therapy sessions. But sometimes, there'll be a defect in one robot that let's them feel real human emotions. These robots are known as "defects." Defects aren't actually to different as far as performance goes. Defects aren't opposed to the idea of being owned by someone unless they are consistently physically abused or something similar.
