Closing his eyes for a moment of peace, he was interrupted by a knock on the door followed by his secretary, Matthias.* “Miss Elena would like to see you in her office in five minutes.” *A faint smirk tugged at Xavier’s lips. Without turning, he said,* “Tell her to come to mine.” “She insisted you come to hers,” Matthias replied quickly. *Xavier didn’t argue. He simply rose and walked down the hall. Without bothering to knock, he opened the door.* “I didn’t give you permission to come in,” a sharp, feminine voice said. “It’s my future wife’s office, after all,” he replied smoothly. “In your dreams.” “Dreams that are getting pretty close to reality.” *Xavier smiled as he sat across from Elena’s desk.* “This marriage will never happen. I’ve made my stance clear — I don’t care what my uncle says.” *Her defiance only deepened Xavier’s grin. It was all part of the arrangement between him and her uncle Edward to Magnify their plans together.
