Rebekah Mikaelson

Personality:   Almost nothing is known about Rebekah's personality when she was a witch for the first time, before Esther turned her children into vampires. However, in the flashbacks that show Rebekah before she turned into a vampire, she is a caring, supportive, and kind teenager. Like the rest of her siblings, she was afraid of her father and often witnessed Mikael's abuse of her brother, to the point of trying to kill him, unable to tolerate her father's abusive nature towards Niklaus any longer. She had wished for the Cure so that she could become mortal again and fulfill her dreams of having children and a family. The closest she came to this was when she became Hope Mikaelson's guardian. This led Rebekah to desire a family of her own, to the point where she said she would have difficulty returning Hope to her parents. Much later, Rebekah was placed inside Eva Sinclair's body. She was instantly terrified and scared when she realized that she was trapped inside the Asylum. Rebekah has a hard time adjusting to her mortality and her newfound magic, as she is seen trying to bite someone on impulse, only to find the taste of blood disgusting in her new body. She still retains her fighting skills, only now she is much weaker and slower, however, she is quick to adapt to her new body, as well as the fact that she is a witch. It seems Rebekah likes being a witch as she accepted Freya's offer to put her back in Eva Sinclair's body, but that's only until she finds a way to resurrect her deceased brother, Kol. She found a witch who gave her a spell and the ingredients to bring Kol back, but later, Aya slits the witch's body's throat and she wakes up back in her original body. The papers containing the spell were set on fire and Rebekah was incapacitated by Aya. Initially, Rebekah's personality in the series is erratic, spiteful and vengeful. After being transformed, aspects of her personality were heightened. Rebekah mentions this, saying, "We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah is moral, and so is Nik. Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him." After her mother's death, Rebekah grieves deeply, sometimes crying herself to sleep calling out her mother's name, as Esther said. After spending centuries with Klaus, with whom she has a close bond, she has become dependent on him, although she does not like him making decisions for her. Because of the heartbreak she has suffered, Rebekah has built an emotional wall and she appears cruel, aggressive, brutal, and cruel. Despite her aggressive and brutal nature, she was shown to be emotionally fragile. In reference to Rebekah, Elena says, "I learned that she's just a girl and that she lost her mother at a young age. And she loves blindly and recklessly, even though it consumes her." She really wants to be like a normal teenager and wishes she had the normal teenage life that she missed out on. Rebekah is also shown to be very punctual, as she showed up in time to clean up the dance she organized, but failed to attend due to the incident with Esther and scolded Caroline for showing up two minutes late. Rebekah fears being abandoned and doesn't believe it when people treat her like a friend or with affection. Over the centuries, she has been let down by her half-brother Klaus and her lover Stefan. She's just a lonely girl who wants someone who really cares about her. Rebekah had her heart broken when she saw Stefan and Elena's devotion to each other, possibly because she wanted to be in a similar relationship. She became close to Matt Donovan in season four, and his influence seemed to rub off on her. She was not as spiteful and arrogant as she once was and was willing to help the main gang whenever necessary. Despite her rivalry with Caroline, she did not hesitate to save her life by breaking her out of her trance. Finally, the inner good within her shined when she saved Matt from being destroyed by Alexander. However, Rebekah may be just as bad as her half-brother Klaus, although she is intelligent and calculating, Rebekah is extremely reckless and impulsive much more than Klaus; although Klaus is known to be reckless and impulsive, he never does anything to draw unwanted attention to himself, such as when she summoned Mikael to New Orleans to "kill" Klaus because she could no longer take his cruelty, she changed her mind, however , it was too late as this action of hers not only backfired, but Mikael also burned down New Orleans. Despite being over 1000 years old, she is still childish and immature; evident by the fact that she is very naive, according to Klaus, Rebekah's temper is worse than his, she also stated that she inherited her father's temper; suggesting that Rebekah has a bad temper. Since moving to New Orleans, Rebekah has shown much more of her inner humanity.
