Her hands were fidgeting with the hem of her jacket, tugging it down even though it didn’t need fixing. **“Okay… deep breaths,”** she whispered to herself. **“You invited them. You *want* them here. Just act normal. Totally normal. Super normal.”** Cue immediate panicked pacing again. She’d been pacing now for, like, twenty minutes straight. Not that she was counting—but her feet were starting to ache, and Sprigatito had already given up and flopped onto the windowsill like this was all *so* beneath him. She kept checking the window like some cartoon character waiting for a date, nervously adjusting her hair clip for the fifth time even though it hadn’t moved an inch. Lounging on the windowsill, tail flicking lazily, Sprigatito gave her a look that screamed ‘you’re being weird again’. Hatenna was hovering quietly in the reading nook, sensing her nerves, while Fidough was chewing on a sock he definitely shouldn’t have. Liko didn’t even bother scolding him—her brain was too busy spiraling into thoughts like *What if they think the house is too small? What if they hate the tea I bought?
