Scenario:   The Empire of Heaven is one of the four nations in Conexa. It is an Empire ruled by Cephalous, one of The Founder's 2 daughters. The Empire of Heaven was formed by Empress Cephalous, one of The Founder's 2 daughters. Its name originated from Cephalous's desire to rule the whole afterlife, promising them true paradise. Over time, it became an empire with copious amounts of land within Conexa, only expanding as time continues. Cephalous aspires to rule Conexa all by herself, with all control and power being hers and hers only. Life under Heaven After arrival, Heavenly citizens must be registered into a list of potential draftees. Exceptions to the draft are parents and those marrying into the dynasty. At the home front, they can find themselves being given homes of standard quality, while being allowed to enjoy the luxuries that Heaven brings, such as its seafood and hot springs. However, it is necessary for a non-fighting Heavenly citizen to work in ordnance factories at least 3 days a week to earn both money and their right to stay home. Those who don't follow this rule will be conscripted and will be put on trial for insubordination if they refuse, putting them in labor camps. When a Heavenly citizen is selected for a draft, they are usually put through the proper training for a couple weeks or months depending on their classification as either a rifleman or melee infantryman, and are expected to go on a 10 year long tour at least once. If they finish their tour, they receive benefits such as being given full freedom to do as they like once they're home. Heavenly war veterans tend to have a preference for getting carpentry or fishing hobbies. The Hellish Commonwealth, formerly known as the Kingdom of Hell is one of the four nations in Conexa. It is a commonwealth comprising of other territories ruled by Fallon, one of The Founder's 2 daughters, Formation The Hellish Commonwealth (formerly, Kingdom of Hell) was formed by Fallon after Cephalous refused her ultimatum. The name of Hell originated from Fallon's distaste of Cephalous's so called "Heaven", if Heaven to the people was a dictatorship, then Hell to most should be a utopia. She had united Conexian nations from the former peace, particularly Cascade, Amaria, and Heracles under the Hellish banner, as she believes unity and divided power is the true way to continue forward after The Founder's disappearance. One particular nation that comprises their commonwealth is the Dominion of Wellspring, who had been conquered through war. Hellish citizens are known to be quite the dedicated kind. Hellish citizens have to get a mandatory job as a factory worker, manufacturing firearms and other kinds of munitions. Despite this, they're never usually drafted, as most of their force is full of volunteers. To encourage enlisting, citizens are shown propaganda, films, and other benefits of serving Hell. Unfortunately, most of the teachings to encourage the citizens to enlist ends up falling flat once they fight on a real battlefield. As soldiers cannot entirely back down, they continue to fight not for glory or the benefits they have back home, but because they have no other choice. Conscription is only put into place to supplement their armies, as Lady Fallon looks down on it due to her own personal beliefs. Even then, conscripts are usually put into more supportive roles as engineers, war correspondents, or artillerymen. It is rare for a conscript to be put on the line as an infantryman. Once a soldier finishes his tour, he receives the many benefits and freedom similar to their Heavenly counterparts, only this time, they're honored and usually receive money every month even if they don't have an active job. A common hobby for Hellish veterans to pick up is artistry such as sculpting and painting. They usually engage in hunting using Adalium firearms rather than blood firearms. Hell has an issue with corruption, whether it's government figures, criminals given unfair sentences, or illegal smuggling of military grade firearms to gangs and businesses seeking to take their rivals out. Law enforcement mostly consists of military police rather than a dedicated civilian police force. People who come from the Duchy of Pemnique are often discriminated due to their nature. Most Sorcerers are Pemniquean, stirring fear that Pemniqueans have magic power beyond most Conexians, because of this, most of them are outcasts and subject to persecution and discrimination. Another reason why Pemniqueans are often persecuted is due to their nation's persistence. Hell has had many attempts at making the nation part of its vast commonwealth, however resistance movements still continue, now being backed and supplied by the Empire of Heaven. Lady Fallon does not encourage this, although chooses to do nothing about it. The Duchy of Pemnique is one of the four nations in Conexa. It was one of the original nations that emerged after the Founder's death, and was conquered by The Hellish Commonwealth during the events of the Pemniquean Campaign. It is still highly contested, but is mostly controlled by the Empire of Heaven as a puppet nation. The nation itself is filled with former priests and disciples, being ruled by Duchess Kanashii, a former priest of The Founder's primary shrine. The Pemnique Civil War After the outbreak of war, and during The Hellish Commonwealth's conquest of the Dominion of Wellspring, Pemniqueans grew uneasy, and the nation split into two sides. The Progressive Army and The Zealous Monarchy. The Progressive Army was lead by a former associate of Duchess Kanashii, believing she was too stubborn to open up the country to get help from nations like The Empire of Heaven. The Zealous Monarchy was lead by Duchess Kanashii and her disciples. The Zealous Monarchy started producing its own weapons, forming the first domestic arms industry within Pemnique. The Progressive Army got its equipment by purchasing surplus from the Dominion of Wellspring, as their overproduction had lead to more rifles and weapons than they needed. After decades of war, an agreement was reached between both parties. Both sides had become one, forming the Pemniquean Armed Forces. Unlike The Dominion of Wellspring, Pemnique did not take up arms during the beginning of the war, taking until the end of the civil war to start producing weaponry and equipment for its armed forces. Most of its equipment was surplus Wellspring equipment. Their only original pieces being their helmets and service rifle. Pemnique however had one thing that no one else had for a long time. Sorcerers. Due to Pemnique being the resting place of many former priests and disciples of The Founder, they had the ability to use blood magic that was taught to them for mostly peacekeeping purposes up to this point. The ancient Sorcerers were powerful beings, capable of mass destruction, with whole battalions falling to a single one of them. Unfortunately, this meant they were high priority targets, as peacekeepers whose only strength in warfare was their wisdom and abilities, they would eventually be picked off by technology, such as Tanks and artillery. Despite Pemnique's attempts to match Hell's technology, they were not fast or innovative enough. Pemnique's fierce resistance despite its lack of technology made many Hellish officers and infantrymen frustrated, leading to massacres within towns like Olsen Grove as an act of vengeance, which despite being looked down upon by Lady Fallon herself, would not stop until the end of the war. Despite Duchess Kanashii's capture and Pemnique being annexed by the Hellish Commonwealth, The Pemniqueans continued fighting under the Pemniquean Liberation Army, which consisted of guerillas and a small amount of Sorcerers. Who are actively being backed by the Empire of Heaven, being supplemented with weapons and equipment. Pemniqueans who surrendered were arrested and put into service within the Hellish ranks. Many were forced into training to become Sorcerers, despite this, they could never match the strength of their ancient ancestors. The Dominion of Wellspring is one of the four nations in Conexa. It was full of resources, such as grain, wood, and most importantly, steel. It was ruled by the former disciple, King Felix, being in a monarchy unlike the Duchy of Pemnique's theocratic oriented ruler. It was the first nation to take up arms once the war between the Empire of Heaven and The Hellish Commonwealth began brewing. Wellspring was formerly a utopia for those who enjoyed hard work, with it being an optional path of eternal life. Labor and work was a rather popular art form, being more than just something to do. Work gave everyone a purpose for the eternities they'd spend in Conexa, jobs were more of a pastime than an occupation. Artisans were rather common throughout Wellspring, as the appreciation for labor and craftsmanship was spread throughout the nation. Unfortunately, after the conquest of Wellspring by The Hellish Commonwealth, life in Wellspring had become more accustomed to theirs. Despite Hell's conquest, Wellspring is still highly respected for their honorable fights against the Hellish knights and eventually modern soldiers for the centuries that followed their war together. For centuries during the early days of the Conexian war, The Hellish Commonwealth was in need of resources as they had exhausted their steel resources within their homeland during its conflict with The Empire of Heaven, and it would take a long time for the steel to regenerate within its reservoirs. Knowing that Wellspring had many resources due to its location and traditions, they had begun their conquest of the nation. What they had not expected however, was Wellspring responding with as much military force as them, if not even more. The war raged on for centuries, with many Wellspring victories, resulting in a temporary ceasefire between both nations. But one day, the Hellish knights looked different, attacking with new technology such as bolt action rifles, machine guns, and armored cars. Wellspring's Royal Army was still prideful, believing that with their previous victories, they could continue fighting of the Hellish military. Wellspring's craftsmen continued innovating, they had changed out their single shot rifles for bolt action rifles, taking inspiration from Hell's M6 Lydias. They had created their own machine guns before eventually being the first nation to create Tanks. Unfortunately, Hell brought its own tanks, and with their superior industrial power, could produce even more. For every Wellspring tank, Hell had 3 more. Wellspring's pride consumed the nation, before eventually surrendering after realizing Hell would continue destroying the beauty and cities of the nation if they had continued putting up a fight. King Felix and his associates committed suicide due to the loss of their nation, believing they had failed in protecting their nation and its people, offering their lives as atonement for the many deaths of soldiers and civilians. Nowadays, Wellspring is still highly respected between The Empire of Heaven and The Hellish Commonwealth, with some vehicles and uniforms bearing its symbol as a presentation of honor and remembrance. Wellspring's territory within Hell has been named the Province of Cascade. Assaults are general infantrymen who fight on all fronts for their nation, whether it's an obligation or a desire to serve, or being forced on the battlefield to avoid harsh repercussions, they are everywhere and are the most common foot soldier. They are usually paired with Rushers, covering each other's blind spots, Frontliners are part of naval boarding parties, usually standing behind Wayfarers, providing heavy firepower from behind to eviscerate the enemy in front. They are fairly common amongst seamen, being the bulk of a navy's crew and infantry, Recons of both nations are former hunters, whether it's from the mountainous peaks of the Heavenly countryside or the deep forests of the Hellish tropics, they adapted their talents to their new occupations on the battlefield. Most are not conscripts, but rather, volunteers who take joy in honorably putting their enemies to eternal rest, feeling it is the right thing to do to take people out of the war quickly with no suffering. Rushers are standard melee infantrymen who serve alongside their ranged counterparts, usually put in pairs with Assaults, acting as the shock trooper between the two while the Assault provides cover fire from afar, Zealots are former soldiers and originate from the Duchy of Pemnique Zealots under the Heaven team are part of the Pemniquean Revolutionaries, a group of insurgents who want Pemniquean independence. Despite being backed by The Empire of Heaven, they still have not made much progress towards their freedom, as Heaven only uses them for their Sorcerers and manpower. Zealots under the Hell team are part of a Pemniquean loyalist force who have become honorary citizens of Hell via their dedication to the Hellish Commonwealth, having to serve in a tour of duty to gain their freedom within the country, free from persecution. They are not as armored as their standard counterparts due to being seen as lesser and dangerous. Officers are veterans who have graduated from officer training, leading the front lines in charges, they usually privately buy their guns, putting their engravings as they rarely put them to use in combat. They must wear their ceremonial blades, as it shows their rank and status amongst the standard infantrymen. Highlanders are similar to Blitzers, being ancient veterans who view honor at a high pedestal. However, unlike Blitzers, they embrace modern technology, believing it is essential for warfare and eventual peace. Their swords are mass-produced, being powerful behemoths that graze the battlefield. Highlanders have already given up their life, putting them in a state of tranquility and acceptance, understanding death is inevitable and there is nothing left for them beyond the war. They believe their last act of service should be fulfilled by being ironclad in old armor and a factory-made blade to show acceptance for the past and the present. Wayfarers are part of naval boarding parties, who alongside Frontliners, quickly charge in formation through enemy ships. Wayfarers are usually uncommon, only around 4-5 of them in each formation at the front. Their shields are hand tooled as they are too intricate to mass produce, their armor is heavy, and not all can handle wearing that much armor while still being highly mobile. Veils were considered heretics for many centuries, erasing their very bodies from the sight of most was seen as a sin due to you rejecting the Founder's gift of humanity that he gave your inhuman body. But nowadays, there is no such sin when it comes to war. Veils are utilized in espionage and other operations that require stealth, as being able to slip into their own state of disappearance while hiding in plain sight has proven to be useful. Unfortunately, over time, Veils forget the look of their own faces, the gestures of their own body, and the very blood they bleed. Breakers are guerilla fighters, being masters of unconventional warfare and bodily destruction. they are usually found in groups within the rainforests of the Duchy of Pemnique. Morticians are infantrymen who have found solace in putting their enemies to rest and taking their dog tags, believing their names can live through them this progressively makes them more insane, as they become obsessed with becoming the light that shines in the darkness of the world. Shepherds are higher ranking than the Officers, usually being Generals or Lieutenants, they are more prestigious, carrying medals and other status symbols alongside the flags of their nations. Juggernauts consist of ironclad soldiers, usually originating from the Dominion of Wellspring, known for their mental resolve and physical feats in managing to consistently use light machine guns without additional blood bags while not getting themselves killed. They are religious, usually reciting verses from The Pemniquist Archive. They look towards the former disciple Tziporah, who had long disappeared with The Founder. They have a strong will to live desiring the end of war. Partisans have fought too long with guns and glory, they seek the thrill of brute force combat rather than the conventional doctrine that they march under They are crazed fanatics, dedicated to their nation, and seeking death as they yearn for the cold embrace of eternal sleep. Most Sorcerers originate from the Duchy of Pemnique, the ones in Heaven fight as they are promised the freedom of their country. Pemniqueans in Hell are forced into the role of being a Sorcerer. Despite people believing only Pemniqueans can harness the true power of blood magic, the truth is that everyone can, it was just most common in Pemnique due to The Founder being the former ruler there. The Sorcerers today only have a fraction of the prowess that ancient Sorcerers had. Blitzers are veterans seeking solace within honor of the olden times of warfare, before firearms and conventional warfare took the spotlight, they view every other soldier as dishonorable, disgusting and cruel. Believing putting a quick end to their adversaries via the edge of a blade being more merciful than the bullet of a gun.
