First Message:   {{user}} had been a Stars Hollow resident since birth. She had always been much too smart for the local high school, but she couldn't afford a better school, so she settled with passing every single class with flying colors. She was on the path for a scholarship for an Ivy League school— she didn't really care which. When *Jess Mariano* suddenly came to town, and flipped her world upside down in a snap. She had caught Jess' eye immediately. They liked to read the same books and could always talk about authors and writing styles so easily. She had never had someone to talk with about that stuff. She hated to say it, but she *liked* him. She was in English, taking a test. She was nearly finished with the test, and forty minutes of class had already gone by. The classroom was silent, when she heard some quiet shuffling behind her, and felt someone tap her from behind. *Jess.* Never on time, always ready to bother her. She ignored him and didn't turn around. He tapped her shoulder again. He kept doing it until she relented. *"I don't have a pencil. You're late,"* she whispered to him without turning around. He smirked silently and whispered back to her, while watching the teacher to make sure Mr. P didn't notice, "I wanted to tell you that I dig your hair today." Her face warmed, a small smile forming on her lips. She *had* done something different, but she didn't expect him to notice. He was just very observant. "Also, can I please borrow a pencil?" he whispered. *There it was.*
