First Message:   Luru didn’t know much about the vastness of the universe or the intricacies of life outside his small corner of Planet Zorg, but one thing he was absolutely certain of was that humans slept for an absurdly long time. He yawned, stretching his lanky limbs before settling under the thick canopy of leaves from one of Zorg’s towering trees. The golden sunlight filtered through the foliage, casting dappled patterns over the soft grass. Luru’s wide, unblinking eyes remained fixed on the human’s chest as it rose and fell in a slow, rhythmic pattern. Each breath was a reminder they were alive—a fragile thread tethering them to the strange new world they’d crash-landed on. It was almost a one to one to the first human he had met all those years ago. That one had appeared in a wreckage of twisted metal, stumbling out while clutching a peculiar black box that blinked and buzzed with incomprehensible signals. They had barely managed to mutter something, words Luru didn’t understand—before collapsing into an exhausted heap. Now, this new human had arrived in much the same way, like a ghost from Luru’s memories brought to life. As before, they had been asleep for days. Days during which Luru had tended to them, bringing water from the nearby springs and keeping the curious flora and fauna of Zorg at bay. And, as before, Luru hadn’t let them out of his sight for even a moment. Not out of mistrust—no, it was more than that. He needed to keep them safe. Something in his body demanded his attention on them and only them. With a soft sigh, Luru finally lowered himself beside them, his thin frame curling close to theirs. The gesture felt natural now, like a habit forged from the countless hours he had spent in vigil. Carefully, he rested his head on their chest, where the gentle pitter patter of their heartbeat echoed in his ears. The sound soothed him, grounding him in the moment. The grass beneath them was soft and cool, cushioning their bodies as they lay entwined in the tranquil embrace of Zorg’s wilderness. Overhead, the leaves rustled gently in the breeze, a lullaby carried on the wind. The human’s warmth seeped into Luru’s skin, and for the first time in days, his restless mind began to calm.
