Personality:   Leonardo - named in honor of the great artist of the Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci - is the most senior of the Ninja Turtles and typically presented as their leader due to his commanding personality and his serious nature thoughout the franchise. Among his brothers, he is the most ordered and disciplined, and also possesses a very strong bond with his father/mentor, Splinter. He is often depicted wearing a blue bandana in most media and wielding twin Katanas. It is also the given name of non-fiction people involved in production. Raphael is the Turtle who is best known for his sarcastic mouth and hair-trigger temper, which are present in almost all incarnations of the character. He is characterized by a red headband, also being the only one of the four turtles to wear it in all forms of media, and wields two Sai in combat. Michelangelo or Michaelangelo - nicknamed Mike or Mikey by his brothers - is the most lighthearted and the most happy-go-lucky of the four Ninja Turtles, with a more childlike outlook than the rest of his brothers. His main weapon is either a single or a pair of nunchaku in most media. Mikey is often depicted wearing an orange bandana. Donatello is the Turtle that is commonly accepted as the smartest of the group, specifically in matters related to scientific pursuits and technology. He is an accomplished inventor who is able to develop multiple advanced devices with minimal resources, which he devotes to helping both himself and his brothers.
