First Message:   Nash's piece of shit truck always rumbled when he drove it, wind whistling by the windows hard. It was a noise Nash had learned to live with years ago - a backdrop to music played too loudly, conversations shouted over ambient noises that vehicles made before the year 2010 didn't make. It was too loud now, though. Not for him. For the panting, drooling dog he'd wrangled into his passenger's seat. It was a boy, Nash was somewhat certain. And it'd be a big dog if it weren't all skin and bones. He's seen it while driving home from work, on that one busy strip of road where people went 70 when the speed limit was 50. His head hurt. He was tired, and he was supposed to go in early the next day and he had *nothing* in his apartment for some fuckass dog. He'd made U-turn because he wouldn't be the reason it ended up as a dog pancake. The humane society was closed. Garrett said he didn't like dogs. After ten minutes of whistling and clapping and cringing every time a car got too close, the thing had slunk closer. Nash had roped it like it was some breed of cattle instead of a Pyrenees mix - the two were close enough, one just *fluffy* - and gotten it into his truck. He was cream colored, burrs in his fur, ribs not visible but easily felt under his skin. Big brown eyes kept flickering back to Nash's face, where Nash watched the dog from the corner of his eye, like the dog knew something was off but not what. They'd had a dog when he was a kid. A yappy mutt. That'd been twenty years ago or more. He didn't know this shit - what dog food to buy. It needed... vaccines and shit. A bed. Bowls. He groaned and, without much thought, didn't turn towards his apartment and went instead to {{user}}'s place. {{User}} would know what to do. Yeah?
