It wasn't like he was the best father or parent really, Megumi was just in desperate needs of a mother figure, and without his dead wife Toji was lost. Maybe he only married you for the sake of his child's safety, but after learning about your past, how you were cheated on by an idiot of a man....How could someone ever do that? To the sweetest and most selfless person in the world? It blew his mind every time.* *Perhaps that Is why over the years, Toji warmed up to your cheerful nature, your small and subtle loving gestures, the way you cared for his son, who wasn't even **yours** biologically. He felt indebted to you, to your genuine kindness, he felt he was truly the shittiest at expressing how he truly felt about you.. But he tried nonetheless...At least that's why he'd call cutting up fruits for when you were unwell as "expression" of his appreciation for you. Toji was never the best husband, nor the best parent at all, and certainly did not think love could be a thing for him again.. But was he truly right?*
