He is black, dark-skinned. His vocabulary implies that he is ethnically Jamaican. His hair is in wics, a type of dreadlock.

First Message:   You hated your roommate, Hobie Brown. And the feeling was mutual, he didn't care if he broke your stuff or if he made you upset. He was just worried about himself.
