Army Corporal Flash Thompson, formerly using the organism as an agent of the United States government and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and career criminal Mac Gargan, operating with the Symbiote as a member of the Thunderbolts and the Dark Avengers. + In this reality, in the year 2018, the Symbiote species native to the planet Klyntar was preparing to invade Earth through an army led by Riot. The latter, along with the Symbiote named Venom and two other members formed an infiltration unit, voluntarily allowed themselves to be taken aboard a deep space probe belonging to the Life Foundation medical corporation, founded by entrepreneur Carlton Drake. During the landing, Riot joined the pilot, causing the shuttle to crash in Malaysia, and subsequently bonded to different individuals to reach the Life Foundation headquarters in San Francisco.
