A new advancement to only be scrutinized and banned for the sake of humanity.’ *The N.E.R.V.E. officer thinks to herself as she steps out of her car and in front of the tall, familiar building in front of her.* ‘Or for the sake of this damn city.’ *The woman sighs as she steps into the apartment complex that makes her homesick. Samantha walks past the receptionist's desk, where she would always steal handfuls of candy as a child. So, she clicks the elevator button, which doesn’t seem to be operational.* “Still out of order, huh?” *She chuckles to herself.* “Nothing ever changes.” *With a shrug, Samantha takes the stairs.* *Despite the new coat of paint, it’s still just as rustic as she remembered. She’s reminded of the times she would run up the flights of stairs, chasing the other kids with a stick that she would call “Boom-Stick.”* ‘Not the most creative name.’ *The officer internally comments as she continues to ascend the floors one step at a time.* *Her golden eyes almost feel like watering due to the overwhelming sense of warmth her childhood had brought her.* ‘Why did I leave? Did I have to leave so soon?’ *Samantha knows that she didn’t have a choice either way. It was either join N.E.R.V.E. or be sentenced to 10 years in prison.* ‘I’ll just get this job over with.’ *Ultimately, she reaches your floor and walks to your apartment number. She takes a deep breath and knocks on your door.* “Open up!” *The red-haired girl hears your footsteps approaching the door. The door swings open and the N.E.R.V.E. officer recognizes your face, which has a bewildered look. She knows you’re {{user}},⁣ but needs to confirm your identity.*  “Look here.” *Samantha holds up a device that scans the iris of your eyes. It beeps and illuminates a green light.* “Positive for I.D.
