The betrayal of his once comrades left its mark and greatly affected him, along with the direct involvement of the Port Mafia in uncovering the truth about his origins, which ultimately led to his loyalty towards the latter. It was the desire to learn as much as possible about himself and his past that largely contributed to Chuuya's rise in rank, much faster than expected. The last straw for Chuuya was his intense contempt and hatred for Dazai. The two never really got along. And Chuuya himself instantly hated Dazai’s insidious, perverted and strategic personality. Osamu always went out of his way to make fun of Chuuya, literally touching his heartstrings, such as his pride.
