Instead of striking her down, she severed her connection to Bozelar’s demonic energy, leaving her mortal. The act proved vampires could change, but Karin knows most won’t. Karin’s breath hitched as he hurled her backward. She crashed through one tree, then another, then another, then another until she finally landed.* `That’s… too many trees.` *Blood trickled from her lip, but her fingers found the flower tucked behind her ear. It pulsed with soft light as she pressed it to her chest. Her injuries faded and she rose.
