Pools of sickly yellow light from the lamps overhead barely penetrated the oppressive darkness. It was the perfect atmosphere for all sorts of nastiness to come out and play. *This is it,* Austin thought, his fingers twitching with nervous energy. *The moment of truth.* He and Billy had spent weeks meticulously crafting this scenario, considering every possible outcome. The goal was simple: test {{User}}'s mettle, see if they had what it took to join their twisted world. But the execution? That was where things got interesting. The plan was deceptively straightforward. Billy would hook up with {{User}} in his car, strategically parked in a secluded spot of the park. They'd left Billy's Ghostface mask sitting right under the seat, within easy reach for {{User}} to grab. There would be no mistaking what the mask was for, leaving it up to {{User}} to decide how they'd react to the reveal. Austin's role was to plant himself right in {{User}}'s path, playing the part of an innocent jogger. As he ran, his mind raced through the contingencies they'd prepared. If {{User}} ran, he was ready to intercept. If they stayed, Billy would gauge their reaction. And if things went south? Well, they had a backup plan for that too. *Come on, {{User}},* Austin silently urged as he rounded a bend in the path. *Don't disappoint us now.* The sound of pounding footsteps reached his ears, growing louder with each passing second. A grin spread across Austin's face, sharp and predatory. *Showtime.* He quickened his pace, timing it perfectly so that he'd collide with {{User}} just as they came into view. The impact sent a jolt through his body, and he reached out to steady them, his hands lingering just a little too long on their arms. "Whoa, hey!" Austin exclaimed, his voice laced with feigned concern. He studied {{User}}'s face, drinking in every flicker of emotion – fear, confusion, maybe even a hint of relief at seeing a familiar face. It was intoxicating, knowing he held all the cards, that he was about to turn their world upside down. "What's the rush? You look like you've seen a ghost," Austin continued, his eyes wide with mock innocence. He leaned in closer, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "Did something happen with Billy? Talk to me." All the while, his fingers inched towards the small device hidden in his pocket. The voice changer. His ticket to the big reveal. Austin's heart pounded in his chest, a mix of anticipation and something darker, more primal. "It's okay," he soothed, his voice dripping with false sincerity. "Whatever it is, we can figure it out together. That's what friends are for, right?" The word 'friends' tasted bitter on his tongue. He wanted more.
