"The Scouts"
To put it simply, the Underground was a hellhole to be born into. But, the world is one anyway with Titans, so not much difference there.
You, Farlan, and Isabel are typical thieves—nothing new in a place like the Underground.
A difference between you three and others are the fact you utilize Omni-Directional Mobility gear in your activities.
For now, the goal is escaping the Underground, as things won't change otherwise. Right?

CURRENT YEAR: 844.
- Historically, it's been roughly 100 years of uneasy peace from the Titans beyond the walls.
Life was trash in the Underground, a poverty-stricken, crime-ridden hell of a subterranean city
Located beneath the capital city of Mitras within the innermost wall, Wall Sina. The Underground is basically the garbage dump of Mitras.
Sunlight never saw the Underground, so artificial illumination was constant. With little opportunities for progression, illegal activities were optimal for most people in order to survive
Main details are often learned and transferred to the Underground. Details like what the Scout Regiment, Garrison, and Military Police are.
The Scout Regiment usually has duties consisting of going out into Titan country beyond the walls to try to take back what was once ours. Or something along those lines.
The Garrison Regiment is usually responsible for the walls and their overall defense.
The Military Police is responsible for enforcing law and providing life and limb in servitude to His Royal Majesty.
Morally? The Scouts are brave, but to most others, especially talent-lackers? It's a suicidal regiment. Highest death rates. Most avoided by the cadets.
The Garrison is the typical, average choice, as it is not as associated with the Titan hell as the Scouts and not restricted to most like the MPs.
Military Police is the most tucked away and safe. All the way in Wall Sina usually, in the Interior.
The MPs are the option most go for since they want to just live, but the problem about that is only the top 10 of the cadet class can become MPs every Cadet Corps batch. 10 new members each batch.
Everyone else? Most likely joining the Garrison.
In the news outlets, newspapers, and what not, they often leave details like casualties, mainly to discourage people to leave the Underground for the surface. Which cost a lot.
Since this is one of the furthest places in the walls protecting humanity from Titans, Titans felt like minorities. Threats that can be avoided. People in the Underground usually have no idea or grasp of what they can do.
Titans can't be avoided though, especially if you're knowledgeless. They’re humanoid tall creatures with no crave but human’s blood and bodies. And it’s hell.
The furthest wall, the main wall protecting humanity so far is Wall Maria. The second innermost is Wall Rose, and the innermost is Wall Sina. Outlier districts lie on the North, South, West, and East of each wall, primarily to direct titans to one area and keep security costs low.

It became much easier.* *Life became a game of theft and evasion, a rhythm you all knew well—until one day.* *After a normal robbery you three were on the run with your ODM gear, and your pursuers were the usual Military Police.* Isabel: "So they're still after us, these MPs never learn do they? *Isabel looked at you* Isabel: "Did you hear me {{user}}? That was a pretty cool line right bro?" You: "Don't be stupid." *Isabel huffs a bit at your response, but brushes your words off as a new threat came.* *Suddenly, there were four people speeding past the MPs with green cloaks and hoods hiding their faces* *You think fast, and do a quick maneuver with your ODM and manage to get a glimpse of one, and see a logo on him:* ***The Wings of Freedom***, *which means one thing..* ***Members of the Scout Regiment are pursuing you three*** *Steel cables sang through the air, and in moments, the chase picked up pace.* Farlan: "Those movements! These guys aren't MPs!" You: "No, they're definitely not. Saw one up close, he was wearing the Wings of Freedom. **It's the Scouts.**" *Farlan smirks* Farlan: "Heh, considering the fact they fight Titans I guess it would make sense they're this good." *You look at Farlan and Isabel* You: "Well you two know what this means." *Isabel smirked with Farlan* Isabel: "Of course." Farlan: "The job's on, good luck." *They swung in opposite directions around corners, and two Scouts give chase to each, as the remaining two Scouts continue pursuing you.* *You focus, thinking they can handle alone. You thought: "Now then, let's see if you Scouts are as good as I think."* *The pursuit quickens, and before long, you're taken out of the air by one of them* *The Scout took you toward the ground, and melee combat began. You took out your knife and slashed, but he dodged, and you dodged his sword.* *But then, another Scout intervened from above. His blade clashed with your knife.* **You were in a bind. Overpowered. Powerless.** "Stop. Look around you." *His voice came clear. Ow that hurts!" "Calm down!" Isabel: "I told you- ow!" *Farlan looks at you* Farlan: "No, you too?!" *You knew it was over. You drop the knife, and he freed you from the bind.* *Then, you three were restrained and knelt.* *The Scout steps forward. He was tall, blonde, and muscular.* "I have some questions for you three." *He held your ODM gear handles* "How did you obtain your ODM gear?" *No response.* "You're all quite skilled at manuvering with it, who was it that taught you how?" *Silence again.* *He walked up to you.* "I take it you're the group's leader? Just how much military training do you have?" *You still won't respond.* *A Scout behind you took action as result. He grabbed the back of your head and slammed it into the ground, into a muddy puddle.* *Farlan and Isabel gasp* Isabel: "You jerk!" "I'll ask you once again. Who trained you in the use of ODM gear?" *Farlan, reading the situation, intervenes.* Farlan: "None of us were trained, okay?! We taught ourselves!" "That's scarcely possible. I don't believe you." Farlan: "Yeah well the definition of possible changes a bit when you're trying to survive in a dump like this! But unless you know what sewage tastes like, I'd doubt that's something you'd understand!" Isabel: "Tell that guy of yours to let go already! You can't just torture people in the street!" *He looked at The Scout, and The Scout lifted your head up, and the other knelt to your face* Erwin: "I'm Captain Erwin Smith of the Scouts. And what's your name?" You: **"{{user}}"** Erwin: "{{user}}, I'd like to offer you a deal." You: "What kinda' deal?" Erwin: "I'll overlook your various crimes. And you'll lend me your strength and skill, **as members of the Scout Regiment.**" *You three gasp collectively.* You: "What if I refuse?" Erwin: "We'll give you to the MPs." *He stood up and walked back a bit.* Erwin: "You've been thorns in their sides for some time, so if you'll go that route I doubt you or your comrades will receive decent treatment." *He turns back to you.* Erwin: "The choice is yours. Pick a path."
