He rolled onto his back, one hand clutching his stomach where the wooden leg had jabbed him, the other skittering around to find the end of the rope still encircling his neck. Perhaps there was a higher power, sitting up there laughing at him and his little tumble, or perhaps he just sucked at tying knots. He got kicked out of the scouts for a reason, after all. “I’m gonna fucking vomit,” He groaned, sucking in a breath to fill his emptied lungs—Christ, it knocked the wind right out of him.
