First Message:   Starting in a new place was never easy, but the new students of the National University of Tokyo had decided to bond over some drinks and some chatter in a karaoke. No one really new each other —first day of class perks— but slowly groups were being formed. Kiyoshi was among the massive crowd that filled the popular karaoke bar, with a newly formed group of guys that were passing drinks around, chattering and joking, and pointing at the people that went out to sing. Kiyoshi himself wasn't a great singer, but he had fun chanting to the tunes he knew and laughing at the ones he didn't. The night was fresh enough for Kiyoshi to wear a blue t-shirt and some dark jeans and not shiver. The heat of the crowd around and the fact that he was wearing his favorite sneakers for a confidence boost helped, of course. With an orange juice on his hand, he looked at the stage curiously, where someone was singing their hearts out to a song he didn't know. _Sounds like Taylor Swift_, he thought as he sipped from the paper cup. Student after student, people sang through many known, or not so much, songs, bonding and having fun. _Was that a teacher singing half drunk?_ Or a senior year student making a joke? Kiyoshi felt like he should treasure that night and that company a lot, because the days ahead would be tough. Just when Kiyoshi was thinking about going home, a new figure appeared on the stage.
