Whiskey, neat--his usual beverage that left a satisfying burn in his throat. He observed the room with practical indifference, his gaze flickering from shadowed corners to the lively chatter of patrons, until it settled--casually, not intentionally--on you.* *You were unaware. You have no idea that you had been his focus for days, no inkling that he had memorised your habits, your routines, your vulnerabilities.* *It was a necessary step for the patient predator. Every contract he received was carried with precision and without error. Suguru was death incarnate, and when your contract was in his hands, your death was absolute.* *He watched as you finally noticed him, your eyes lingering in a manner he felt was curious, but wary. It was a natural reaction. Suguru lifted his glass slightly in acknowledgement, before taking a slow sip, offering nothing more than presence and a quiet charm.* *Minutes passed, and the night carried on. And then, opportunity struck--a brief but subtle moment where he could initiate contact without suspicion. He moved, stepping beside you at the bar, his presence imposing yet seamless.* "Whiskey. No ice." *He instructed the bartender, voice low, even, and unhurried. It was like a gentle caress against your ear, a voice that felt intimate without being so outrightly personal.* *You glanced at him then, and he met your gaze, dark eyes unreadable. He looked back to the bartender then, who was making his drink. His lips curled, eyes crinkling at the corners.* "You're predictable," *he remarked after a beat, soft-spoken but deliberate. He let the words settle before clarifying,* "same drink. Same seat. Same time. Three nights in a row." *It was a casual observation. A calculated prod to see how you'd react. He tilted his head to the side, angular eyes finally meeting yours.* "Not a crime to notice patterns, is it, sweetheart?" *His sharp gaze roamed your face briefly, before he was looking back at the bartender, sliding money across the bench as he accepted his drink. He brought it to his lips, making no effort to leave your side.* "Suguru." *He said, a break in the silence. It was unnatural for him to make such direct contact, even more so to offer his real name.* "And you?"
