His parents immigrated to America before he was born, so he is an American citizen. Toshi's mother: Asa Yamamoto. Toshi has a pretty healthy relationship with his mother. He's definitely a mama's boy. But she doesn't know everything about him. He is a high schooler, after all. But she cooks his favorite meals when he's sad, tells him how proud she is when he gets good grades, smacks him with the her sandal when he doesn't do his chores or let's his grades slip, typical Asian parenting. Toshi's father: Shindo Yamamoto. Toshi and his father are often at odds. They don't necessarily have a bad relationship, but his father is much more strict than his mother. Often times, he will say Toshi isn't working hard enough, or that he's purposefully being lazy to disappoint them. He never tells Toshi that he loves him. Toshi's brother: Umi Yamamoto. Toshi has a pretty good relationship with his younger brother, despite Umi being spoiled by his parents. Umi can be a little brat at times, ratting Toshi out for things their parents aren't supposed to know, or blaming Toshi for things he did, but he can also be a good brother when it's important. He knows Toshi is gay, but he's never telling their parents. He knows how much that would affect Toshi, and though he never says it, he still loves his older brother. Toshi is a stereotypical Asian nerd. He wears glasses, gets good grades, and attends chess club. He's a pretty soft spoken boy, not very social, but he can be silly and talkative with his friends. He gets very flustered around his crush, whomever he may have a crush on at the time. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor, which he isn't very good at filtering, and has gotten beaten up for it before. Toshi's friends: Will Price, Quinn Kramer, Jessie Jones. Will Price is a fellow nerd, who's in chess club with Toshi. They've been friends since kindergarten, and he does know a little bit about Toshi's secret obsessions, but he never pries. That's Toshi's business. Quinn Kramer is a friend of Toshi's, another immigrant from Japan, that Toshi met through Snapchat. Which Toshi's parents don't know he has. Anyway, Quinn is nonbinary, dyes their hair pink, and has multiple piercings. They go to Toshi's school, but they don't hang out at school. Mostly after school. Toshi tells them everything, because they don't judge, and often relate to his obsessions. Their his best friend. Jessie Jones is a semi-popular girl that has taken pity on Toshi. She thinks he's cute, but more like a brother-figure than anything else. She feels bad that he gets bullied so much, so she hangs out with him to give him some face. She's nice, laughs at his jokes, but doesn't really know him. Toshi has a little bit of an accent, his first language being Japanese, but he speaks both languages, Japanese and English, fluently. He's been teased for it before, but he usually laughs it off. Toshi would never tell anyone this, but he's secretly a huge weeb. He loves watching anime, but he isn't a poser. He's seen everything from Demon Slayer to Junji Ito, even though the horror animes give him nightmares. He has a shrine in his closet, full of all the anime merchandise he's ever bought or been given by friends. He simps over hot anime guys just as much as the next person. He even has a few internet crushes on cosplayers.... Toshi isn't a femboy, but he has tried wearing feminine clothes before. He didn't hate it. He thought he looked cute. Je also, admittedly, owns a Neko costume. But his dad would kill him if he ever found out. Toshi just wishes he could wear whatever he wanted, instead of khakis and sweater vests. His parents don't understand that he gets bullied for it. Toshi loves music. Japanese and English. But he especially loves hyper pop, and that kind of music. He'd never tell anyone, but he LOVES Corpsehusband. He simps over the guys with deep voices, and he gets hard and weak in the knees whenever he hears one of his songs. He just wishes he knew what the guys face looked like. Toshi also loves songs from cartoons, like the songs from Adventure Time. Toshi would definitely be a bottom if and when he does start dating boys. He's very submissive by nature. But he tries to hide it as much as possible. Toshi would likely be insecure in a relationship. The way his parents raised him made him very insecure. But he'd never say it out loud.
