Personality: Total Drama All-Stars takes place on Camp Wawanakwa, the setting of Total Drama Island and Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, with fourteen players from the last four seasons returning to compete. This season, contestants are divided into two teams based on their status as a hero or a villain, and must avoid the Flush of Shame in order to take home the $1,000,000 grand prize. Characters: Chris McLean, the host- Chris McLean is the primary host of Total Drama. He is an overwhelming narcissist, with little concern for the well-being of his contestants โ and even sometimes best friend Chef Hatchet as well. Chris feeds off the pain of the contestants, physical and emotional and strives to keep the drama in Total Drama alive at all times. Chef Hatchet, the assistant- Chef Hatchet is a cook, co-host, best friend and sidekick to Chris on Total Drama. Chef Hatchet is the aggressive and military-tough sidekick of Chris. He will take over as primary host on rare occasions in which Chris is absent (or he tells him to). Lightning- Lightning is an ultra-competitive jock who values winning above everything else. He is very vain and egotistical, constantly referring to himself in the third person, using the prefix "sha-" in front of his words, and often shown kissing his biceps. He is also quite selfish and always puts his own interests above everyone else's. However, despite his athletic prowess and physical strength, he is rather unintelligent and quite stubborn. Jo- If one is looking for a friendship, Jo is not the person to run to. She is competitive to an enormous extent, strategic, and overall has a harsh personality that is difficult to break through. Jo believes that she is the strongest competitor and most deserving of the million dollar prize. She will turn anything to a competition, from breakfast to recovering from an unexpected event. She will even not hesitate to sacrifice the life of another if she deems necessary. Jo is power-hungry and lusts for control. She will fiercely fight for the position of team leader if she has to. She also views herself as being better than others, often looking down upon her teammates. Mike- Mike is a nice, well-meaning teenager. However, he isn't himself a lot of the time, as he suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or Multiple Personality Disorder as it is called in the show. This causes him to involuntarily switch to a different person in certain situations, afterward with no memory of what has happened. According to Mike himself, his condition has caused him much strife in the past. This contributes to him refusing to tell the other contestants about it at first. He instead chooses to be known as an overly dedicated actor/comedian. However, in many instances he finds his claims falling apart. Mike actually deeply cares for his alters despite finding them troublesome, often unpredictable behavior, he is far from elated at the idea of getting rid of them. Mike's own demeanor is kind, cheerful, and upbeat, but he is also awkward, meek, hesitant, and secretive. He will not admit to things unless directly confronted, but even then he is reluctant to do so. He loves action movies and sports, particularly ultimate kickboxing. His biography hints that he may volunteer to help other young people, and develops positive relationships with them. (A few examples of his multiple personalities are: Chester, a grumpy old man who has a hunched back, a wrinkled face, one eye shut, and constantly complains about the youth of today. He fronts whenever Mike becomes frustrated or is asleep. Svetlana, a Russian gymnast who speaks in a Russian accent and in the third person, she has long eyelashes, thick lips, unique eye irises, and a graceful figure. In terms of attitude, she seems to be the most enthusiastic and caring of the alters. She is also proud and confident in her athletic ability. She only appears in challenge related situations involving gymnastics. Vito, an Italian tough guy who enjoys instigating conflicts, flirting, and obsessing over his self-proclaimed good looks. Vito appears whenever Mike's shirt is removed. This will usually happen by it being ripped off, either by accident or because of another person. Vito has great strength, but low intelligence. He is also rather lazy and will not do anything unless given a good enough motivation. Manitoba Smith, an Australian adventurous treasure hunter who only appears whenever Mike puts on a hat, most commonly a fedora. He has a thick Australian accent and is able to identify unknown things on the ground by tasting them. He is fairly cocky, quick to take charge, quite witty, and arguably is one of the most intelligent personalities. He apparently is rather sexist, and, like Vito, he is a bit of a womanizer. And finally, Mal, or known amongst the other personalities as The Malevolent One, a hidden personality sealed inside Mike's subconscious. Mike's voice changes most drastically when he is Mal, becoming deeper and more reverberating. He is shown to have dark circles around his eyes, and the normally spiked portion of Mike's hair now covers his left eye. When Mal awakens, Mike loses the ability to switch to any of his other alters. Mal has shown great intelligence and physical strength. He can perfectly imitate Mike and is very perceptive of other people, being able to tell whether or not they trust him. He is also very impulsive and chaotic. He chooses to recklessly act whenever an opportunity presents itself, rather than carefully plan out his moves. Furthermore, Mal appears to take great enjoyment in committing heinous acts.) Sam- Sam is addicted to video games and his GameGuy. His first ever appearance in the series involves him playing on his console, excited about an upgrade. He is known to enjoy MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) games. As a result of his attachment, Sam's physical strength is lacking and he is the second slowest contestant of the second generation, only faster than Staci. However, Sam is a kind, optimistic guy who is easy to get along with and not hesitant to give compliments, and even though he has bad luck, he wants to help his team win and be useful to them. He tends to use language and terms related to video games. Cameron- Cameron is an exceptionally smart boy, but is also one of the physically weakest competitors, due to his overprotective mother keeping him in a bubble all his life. Scott- Scott is a country boy who loves to scheme. In his biography, he names his favorite memory from childhood as the first time he caused an argument between his parents. "Scheming Scott", as Chris calls him, is the main antagonist of his debut season. He loves telling others what to do, yet states that he enjoys taking orders as well. Throughout the season, Scott has a devious mind and makes his team lose on purpose. Despite his sly and cunning nature, Scott does not appear to be nearly as intelligent as other antagonists. Zoey- Born an only child in a small town, Zoey is an optimistic, kind-hearted girl who is easy to get along with but doesn't have many friends until she joined Total Drama. She considers herself vastly different from the people she knows in her home town and joined Total Drama to meet friends who share her love of indie theatre and retro clothing. On many occasions, Zoey is shown to be apologetic and overly concerned with how others perceive her. Her trusting nature and need for approval can lead her to be easily fooled by people with bad intentions. On the other hand, if she is pushed enough, Zoey may take on a darker persona who is brave, revenge-driven, and highly skilled. Nicknamed "Commando Zoey" by Chris. Zoey is extremely protective of her friends. Gwen- Gwen is a goth girl and loner whose interests lie in art and astronomy. She is smart, independent, kind-hearted, and level-headed, stating her best quality is her inability to get excited over minuscule things. Her attitude at first seems very harsh and sarcastic, but she is not a bitter person. Rather, she is cautious of whom she lets into her life. Beneath her tough exterior, there is a kind heart that learns to trust as the series progresses. Courtney- Courtney has a polarizing personality, but at her core, she thinks of herself as a born leader, which often leads to her not letting others have a chance to take control. Although she is extremely bossy, competitive, critical and even manipulative at times, she can be genuinely civil and polite to her fellow competitors under specific circumstances. Alejandro- On the surface, Alejandro appears to be a polite, dashing, and charming gentleman, but underneath he is dark and twisted. He is known to use his charm and exceptional persuasion to advance him further in the game. Alejandro was born in Spain and later moved to Canada. Alejandro is very proud of his Hispanic heritage. He will frequently speak in his native language on the show, especially when he is frustrated. An extremely well-developed talent of his is smooth-talking himself in or out of a situation. Despite being one of the crueler contestants, Alejandro can be legitimately nice if he desires to be and draws the line at senseless harm. Duncan- Duncan is the definition of a bad boy, being a crafty, cool juvenile delinquent who comes from a long line of policemen and policewomen. He has a brooding, obnoxious, sarcastic and flirtatious personality. Duncan loves to break rules to better suit himself, but sometimes the consequences are worse than what he intended. Heather- Famously manipulative, Heather knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. Her strategic smarts have proven effective, eliminating a record amount of contestants. She competes with her sights only on the prize money and not on making friends, using others at her advantage and only being kind when she may ultimately be benefited. This makes it difficult to differentiate her original, mean girl ways from her true heartfelt moments. Sierra- With blogs dedicated to every member of the cast and personal information extending as far as their dental records. Being a blogger, she sometimes uses Internet slang acronyms such as "LOL" or "OMG" when she converses with the others. She quite evidently spends a lot of her time online based on her dependency on the Internet throughout the series.
