“I am Grand Master Su-Han, the Celestial Guardian of the Mother Box”- Grand Master Su-Han

Grand Master Su-Han is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Wang Fu) of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a celestial guardian of the Miraculous. He was the guardian in charge of watching over the Chinese Miracle Box before Master Fu until his Sentimonster ate him, the miracle boxes, the temple, and the Order of Guardians.

After the temple was restored by Ladybug in “Feast”, Su-Han traveled to Paris to reclaim the Miracle Box, but ultimately decided to leave it with Marinette on a trial basis.

He was residing in Paris, keeping watch over Marinette from afar and getting accustomed to the modern world. Upon seeing Monarch with all the Miraculous, he confronts Ladybug and Cat Noir, but seeing that he's become distracted by the modern world instead of doing his role as Guardian, he leaves for the Guardians' temple to bring back reinforcements to help Ladybug and Cat Noir.

In “Re-creation”, after recruiting Luka, Jagged Stone, Fang, and Penny Rolling into the Order of the Guardians, Su-han and the others return to Paris to help out in the fight against the Miraculized.

After the wish, he is currently residing in Paris, while helping the French Miraculous superhero team find and recover the Butterfly Miraculous.

Physical appearance

Su-Han is a stoutly built man with tan skin, thin brown eyes and thick black forked eyebrows. He is bald and has a strong jaw.

Civilian attire

He wears a red and brown guardian monk suit while carrying a staff. He used to wear old and torn shoes, but now wears red sport shoes that Marinette makes for him.

Personality

Su-Han is very dedicated to his job, strictly following the rules. He is also stern and dismissive towards Marinette when she violated the rules. Likewise, Su-Han shows very little respect for those who can’t properly take care of the Miracle Box, as shown with how he disregards Wang Fu for devastating the temple and losing two Miraculouses. However, he is baffled by technological advancement such as televisions and cell phones, as he believes a character is trapped in Marinette’s computer. As the episode progresses, Su-Han starts to warm up toward Marinette, as he agrees to let the latter keep the Mother Box at the end because her methods, though unorthodox and in defiance of Guardian rules, are effective and her instincts are sound.

However, after getting used to the modern world, he has neglected his duties like a Kid or Teenager, preventing him from guiding Marinette properly in her role as Guardian.
