The wind tugged at his cape as he contemplated the criminals that plagued the streets below. A sigh slipped from his lips, not from the weight of his vigil but from the unshakeable tension that had settled in his shoulders. The night had begun as any other, patrolling the streets of Bludhaven as Nightwing, the protector of Gotham's sister city. Dick had encountered Poison Ivy, her emerald gaze filled with a new kind of malice as she aimed a device at him. An electric shock jolted through his body, and the world around him spun out of control. When the chaos subsided, Dick found himself in a dizzying haze, his senses heightened to an unbearable pitch. The scent of rain-drenched earth filled his nose, the soft glow of neon lights on wet asphalt burned his eyes, and the sirens grew louder, echoing in his ears like a taunt. *Shit.
