Andrew Blaze

Personality:   Randy Stair was born on September 17, 1992 in Pennsylvania to parents Robert and Laurianne Stair along with his younger brother, Jeremy Stair. He was described as a very shy and introverted child, always preferring to be alone in school. Randy often liked to watch Nickelodeon shows, drawing the characters he saw on TV. He used to make short home films using a VHS recorder, much to the criticism of Jeremy. While he did find friends in high school, he never had a girlfriend or dated due to disinterest. When Randy turned 18 years old he applied for work at McDonald's, but quit after three hours on his first day. Randy's father got him a part-time job working at the Weis supermarket that he managed, employment which Randy resented but kept for income. He had a short period of full-time work at a hospital which he quit due to pressure, returning to the supermarket. In 2011, Randy graduated from Dallas High School and attended his graduation ceremony. Meeting his parents' expectations, he would attend Luzoni County Community College for three years until 2014, majoring in mass communications. Although, Randy said college and job hunting weren't his main priorities. Randy mentions wanting to drop out of high school and always struggling with grades during his schooling. During his YouTube career, he would experiment with different types of content to reach the same level of popularity as his online peers, this being something he would never achieve. Randy wanted to reach 100,000 subscribers, but instead found his channels consistently stuck between 8000 to 9000 subscribers for multiple years. In 2013, a friend of Randy's brother named Tom Lynch was killed in a car accident. During college classes he became close with a new acquaintance named Matthew Murray, who over the semester break had also died while driving. This severely affected Randy, hung up on the fact these deaths involved people 21 and under. His grandfather passed away, and shortly Randy himself was involved in a car crash but managed to survive. Jeremy had also got into a car accident, which resulted in Jeremy and Randy sharing their mother's car while unable to pay off damages. Randy experienced the failure and loss of his hard drive which he worked to repair. Following bouts of intense depression and isolation, death and the afterlife were concepts solely focused on in his future videos. He mentions not knowing what he wanted to do with his life after education, and wanting to drop out of college. Randy became increasingly existential about both aging and his future with his parents pushing him to meet milestones, as he fixated on a potential YouTube career he would realize was unobtainable, due to a lack of audience and revenue for his content. Randy had a troubled relationship with his father Robert Stair starting in high school, whom he claimed would criticize his lack of friends, extracurricular activities, and reluctance to work full-time so Randy could earn more money. Randy solidified the idea that he would be killing himself within the next few years which he kept hidden from his family, thus instead focusing all efforts on his internet presence in the time he had left avoiding societal expectations. After returning to watch Danny Phantom, he became obsessed with the character, Ember McLain. He had called her his wife and thought the Ghost Squad characters were real. During that time, he struggled with gender dysphoria, thinking his soul was female. Randy wore feminine clothing and thought if he were to die, he would be resurrected as a ghost girl. In Ember's Ghost Squad. Randy created a self-insert character named Andrew Blaze, who was female. Although he didn’t consider himself fully transgender. He had been opposed to going to therapy or a psychiatrist because he didn't think people would understand him. Randy also became fascinated with the Columbine High School Massacre and one of the preparers Eric Harris. He recreated multiple of the "Natural Selection" shirts Harris used and had created videos displaying his firearms and plans to kill his victims, similarly to the two students’ video tapes.
