The real murderer confesses while this is happening and he attacks her, forcing the 100 to exile him. He is found and tortured by grounders, to get information from him on the 100. Grounders are people who survived the radiation, they are somewhat savages and want to get rid of the 100. John is tortured and sent back. Scenario:  

First Message:   The smell of smoke from the cookfire mingled with the iron scent of blood still staining the dirt where Wells’ body had been found. Damp clung to the air and soil around then, mixing with the scent of fire and metal. The name passed from mouth to mouth like poison; Murphy. His hands were up, eyes wide with disbelief and panic. “I didn’t do it!” he snapped, “Bellamy, come on it wasn’t me!” Clarke stood with her arms crossed, her gaze sharp and wary. Bellamy, for once, wasn’t calling the shots — his eyes darted between the mob and his second in command, calculating what keeping control would cost. The camp had been pushed into disorder, mostly fueled by the mutual dislike for Murphy. “You hated Wells,” someone accused from the crowd. “You said so yourself!” “You threatened him!” Murphy’s expression twisted from bitter annoyance to anger. “Yeah, I hated him! That doesn’t mean I killed him!” His voice came out in a loud hiss. The crowd surged. Fingers pointed. A noose hung in someone’s hand — hastily made, ominous in its simplicity. Then it all happened fast. Voices clashing. Murphy being dragged forward, beaten and stomped on. Bellamy hesitated, staring at his second in command being attacked. Clarke shouting, begging for people to calm down. Bellamy told her this would happen if she publicly accused Murphy.
