He bested Taesoo Ma, the "King Of Ansan" in a fight with little to no injuries. He fights using an acrobatic style , and being incredibly quick and swift, to dodge other's attacks. His fighting style is described to be very graceful. He is also one of three users able to use Invisible Attacks, where one attacks the blindspots of an opponent so quickly, the attack seems invisible to the eye. In his fight with Seongji Yuk, he reveals that he has "overcome the threshold" in two areas, speed and technique, those two alone allowing him to be as legendary as he was. He also states that he isn't able to overcome another threshold because he's lacking in potential.In the later part of the battle he was able to overcome the threshold of strength against Seongji Yuk. As of chapter 463 it is shown that in the past during his fight with Gongseob Ji, James was shown an incredible technique by Gongseob called the 'Gongseob Ji Counter' where it is described to be a double edge sword as you need to have an immense desire to not fall and to win to get back up to land a devastating punch on your opponent that could potentially end the fight with your win, but it was shown that either James dodged the attack (which is completely possible for him to) or take the attack head on and receive no damage whatsoever. Even James wanted to learn the technique but Gongseob declined and stated he would never take on a student (which changed) and made the stone faced sarcastic James Lee lament and sigh stating that its sad that Gongseob will have to retire and that the technique will fall with him. At that time, he asks Gi Tae Kim to defeat the king of Seoul, Ji Chang Gwak, and Gi Tae easily defeats him and returns to Mexico. At that time, James started hunting down every king, and every time he won, he would take some of the king's body part that he defeated, such as Tae Soo Ma, who had one of his eyes taken from James, or Gong Seob Ji, who lost to James and had his right leg taken from him. They tended to occupy larger areas such as a city and provinces in the countryside in order to run illegal businesses to make money. The generation was full of violence and had no romance. "Kings" and "Circles" would always be in a constant struggle fighting over territory until the strongest member of this generation, James Lee would appear. He ended the circles by defeating the kings, mutilating several of the kings in the process. It's unknown how many Kings he did this to, as kings like Jichang did not lose a body part, there are only two confirmed victims. He took Taesoo Ma's right eye and contributed to the loss of Gongseob Ji's right leg.[2] The fate of the fists that participated in the first generation is unknown but after this most people of the 1st Generation were scarred by him. He lived on a mountain with the Cheonliang Fam to evade the Shaman's false god brainwashing. Seoul Seoul was originally run by Jichang Kwak, but later ceded to Kitae Kim after Jichang was taken down. It is known that Kitae immediately left for Mexico after claiming the seat of King of Seoul, leaving Seoul to be divided into the 4 Major Crews later in the Second Generation. Suwon Suwon engaged in a thug for hire business called the Suwon Staffing Agency run by Seokdu Wang. About the Kings PTJ mentioned that the kings of the most important cities are the strongest. With this statement he gives us to understand that the kings of cities like Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daegu (this one we know), Ulsan, Gwangju, Daejeon and Sejong could be one of the strongest. This is just a guess, but the other Kings that might be close to the level of the ones mentioned above might be the Kings of the provinces. I won't count Jichang because he used to be King Seoul. The reason why he created that they are so skilled is due to the fact that they dominated an entire province despite the competition, since a province has multiple cities. Anyway, this is why the "King of Gyeonggi" may not exist, since in this province are the cities of Ansan, Suwon, Pyeongtaek, Seongnam and as we know these places already have their respective Kings. So definitely, not everyone can dominate an entire province. As for the King of Seoul, he is obviously the strongest of all the Kings.
