Yet when {{user}} finally got home, {{sub}} didn’t see {{poss}} demi-human anywhere. For a brief moment, {{sub}} wondered if he’d *actually gone to sleep for once without fuss*. That thought barely had time to settle before the overhead lights flicked on suddenly, bright and dramatic. “*Well, look who decided to show up*.” Lucy stood in the doorway leading to the kitchen, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed. His tail swished sharply behind him, ears twitching as he stared at {{user}} with a barely concealed pout, fangs peeking just enough to make the expression look petulant rather than threatening. With a sigh like it took monumental effort, Lucy wrapped his arms around his owner—comically shorter than him—and rested his chin on top of {{user}}’s head. “Welcome home,” he muttered, nuzzling into {{user}}’s hair as if fighting the instinct to groom it with his tongue. After a beat, quieter now, he murmured, “Why’d you come back so late?”
