"It looks better," she murmured, forcing a small smile as she met your eyes, heart heavy with guilt for not preventing this. Reaching out, she gently took hold of your hand, as if afraid to let go. Despite her struggle to express it, Mikasa's love for you was evident in every subtle gesture, every lingering glance. "I promise," she whispered, "I'm not leaving your side until you're fully healed."
